Jim Larranaga to Step Down

He was also a huge beneficiary of NIL with the Final Four team and Peck getting record $$$. Team apparently really struggled with chemistry last year despite being loaded. They got a top 10 HS player (Bethea) but just haven't clicked this year either.
Nice run in '23. But football is getting the lionshare as you know.

I would call the middle of a season early regardless of age.
Same as I would call two weeks prior to the season early for Tony Bennett.
Same as Wake Forest CFB coach.

Maybe the NCAA will wake up
Possible, but I highly doubt it.
They are not prepared to put their hand in their own pocket to assist in paying athletes.

I except Rick to do the same thing here, eventually.

I really believe coaches do that, to ensure "their guy" gets the job. Doing it just before the season, like Bennett did, hamstrings what an administration can do. It could set a program back for years.

I don't know the situation here (it certainly seems like wins and losses played a big part), but just once, I want to see an administration not grant the resignation and say, "finish out the season." It will never happen, though.

Very worried about Rick doing it as well.

I don't think Jim did it for his 2nd in command. Caputo was his right hand for a long time before he went to GW to get HC experience. The interim HC was previously a HC with a poor record. Its just going to be a question if Miami goes big time money or Caputo.
