Why is it tiring? People spreading rumors and making up shit is not a new phenomenon...

It's tiring for me I guess because I find myself in it a bit. I'm asked about a lot of these tweets/post/false rumors and people are more gullible at this time and just tend to believe anything that's written on the internet as fact. It also causes a lot of ancillary issues like creating false narratives, false NIL baselines, false accusations about our staff not doing something, so in that sense it's tiring. On top of the reality of the portal and what's actually going on, and how much keeps changing. So you pair the BS and lies and rumors with the facts that actually keep changing and it definitely becomes exhausting.

Paying for families, see UK, Fed Ex prior to Pitino, as mentioned see Busch, USC and Heisman Trophy just off the top of my head that have been publicized. There are others that some here know about and in a private discussion can repeat that negatively affected us. And we are not even talking about finding jobs for family members. This has been going on forever, it just this program got burned this time. You want the player, some programs will do what they have to do from the stuff mentioned above, to bringing in a sibling, a friend or a girlfriend.

Stupid? How many wins and much money did USC make while Busch was there in terms of merchandise, ticket sales and donations. I would say programs that do this will tell you this is a cost for doing business.

I am not justifying it but that is the thinking and it has been going on for a very long time.

Ok, but then schools shouldn't complain when they get played, that's on them.

We seem to be hearing more about "Plan B" centers. I am thinking this means SJUBB is less than certain Cliff will committ.

Always smart to diversify efforts.

Always good to show a kid dragging his feet that you are able and willing to invest your money elsewhere.

Although I think the kid from St. Joe's would have a different type team built around him. Dunlap's post feeding skills would probably get him more time alongside a huge kid who has more deft touch around the basket than Cliff.

It has been going on forever on the college level. Apartment and scholarship for girlfriend. Apartment for family. No show jobs for family. It's also how players are paid overseas. Once you arrive at the cash dollar amount you negotiate the frills. Car, apartment, family travel tickets and hotel allowance when they visit, grocery allowance, etc etc. When Walter Berry played overseas he had his pay check deposited in NY bank and all his other living expenses were paid directly by his club. It happens in high corporate executive contracts here. Frills include private plane use, golf course memberships, apartments in more than one city. I have an Italian friend in corporate world who negotiated twenty (20) round trip tickets per year from Paris, where his office was, to Venice so he could return every weekend to ski at his chalet in Italian Alps.

No not true. You expect integrity. Yes school in this case screwed up by signing lease morning player was supposed to sign at closing. The lease was likely a condition to the closing that morning. The player defrauded school. They have every right to be upset.

I have no desire to know what is going on in Lebron's life, Diddy's life, Madonna's life etc. The Internet is causing people to focus on bullshit we have no control over.

I guess that I am fortunate. At 75 years old my mind can only process a limited amount of information. Presently. I am focused on my wife, my granddaughter starting college in September, and St Johns basketball.

I agree Panther. Two years ago I left Twitter, all it did was agitate me and it did not better my life one bit. Been very happy daily since exiting.
