The NCAA Tournament Thread

especially since I doubt this theme will only be ONCE more.
Nope, I am DONE with the Pitt Ncaa tournament robbery. Even though I've been a tad extreme in my defense of Daniss and Pitt - I saw lies and injustice and sought to combat it and the case has been clearly decided in my favor with the all conference selection and the 8 and 1/4 sweet sixteens. In my defense, I have not weighed in ONE typed letter on the boards other most annoying topics: Posh, Wusu, Storr and Hurley.

Selection and tournament performance are absolutely mutually exclusive, one is earned over the course of a season (supposedly), the other an absolute one game variable based on multiple factors at a given point in time.
Valid point, I just thought Clemson was overrated all year and they have looked very good thus far in the dance

Understood and also valid; kind of like which team was SJU? The losers of 8 of 10, or the team that got hot? Obviously both; ACC got hot in the tourney and if a fan, great. But that doesn’t prove anything regarding their body of work over the season.
If one looks objectively at last year, did the FF teams prove anything conclusive regarding CBB? Of course not.

As much as we shit on Carmine for his ACC takes this year, their teams have shown up in the dance aside from UVA, who shouldn’t have been in anyway

I mean damn even Clemson who were not favored against New Mexico, blew them out and then even made easy work of Baylor.

Pretty surprised by their run so far.
The ACC teams that were in clearly deserved be be in and 2 of them are pretty good. Carmine is also right that Pitt had some good wins although he omits that their SOS makes a Mike Anderson schedule look strong. However the rest of the league is in fact trash and putting Virginia in was absolutely mind-boggling except as a F-U to the Big East and a money grab for the Abbattiello Cronies Conference

I always thought the Big 12 was the best basketball conference in the country, with Big East #2 (but I was not going to go out on a limb and risk being called Big Kranmars 12).

Anyway, they have had a very disappointing tournament. Eight teams, and only two in the sweet 16. While the SEC’s similar results are not surprising, I was pretty convinced the Big 12 would do much better.

Why was Sampson having his men cover A&M players inside the three point line with 1.2 seconds left up three. That allowed an A&M to get behind the three point line all alone.
He should have put his five on the three point line.

All year long Fran Fraschila (who covers the Big 12 for CBS SportsNet) touted the Big 12 MBB as far and away the best conference in the country, no contest, no one even close.

I got into it with him on Twitter suggesting the Big East was just as good if not better.

I guess I know more about college BB than he does.

Evereyone knows more than Fraschilla thinks he does! 😜 ;) 😁

He is 100% right. And he is using it to keep his team motivated. That is why he is the best coach in college hoops right now.
Ackerman and the School AD’s need to take a strong stand with the NCAA. On this Selection Committee farce.
Tell them , none of our BE teams will participate next year , if we see a repeat failure on the Sunday selection show .
I would say , a minimum of 6 BE should be guaranteed to play every year .
Or , else the BE will make other decisions . Including TV rights , etc .
