Connecticut (MSG), Sat., Feb. 3, 12 NOON, FOX

I have a nicer story from the game.

UConn fans do this thing where they don’t sit down until they score a basket. So of course a St. John’s fan was yelling at a UConn fan to sit tf down. They start arguing. In each others faces. Security break it up.

The St. John’s fan learned it was UConn’s own little tradition, and went and bought the UConn fan a beer
regardless it is not your home court, you should have etiquette and not stand, you are blocking views.

Overall I think there is a way to root as an away fan and UConn crosses that line for me. I’m a Mets fan and feel the same way about the 7line folks. I’m not sure where that line is, it’s one of those you know it when you see it.

I really don't care that its their little tradition. That's fine when in Storrs or Hartford. This is NYC. Our house Our home.

If I come over to your house I certainly won't sit on the couch and put my feet up on the coffee table. I will show respect that its your house and not mine.
They play almost as many games there as we do.

As far as standing until you score I consider that dumb and backwards. Why add pressure to your team, makes more sense to me to stand and scream until your defense gives up a basket.

I've seen written here that this year's split was 60/40 St. John's fans.

I was at last year's game and thought it was even better for us, 65/35, I guess the difference is that this year they came in ranked #1 and this game was close to a sellout while last year's game was not. Neither year did their fans seem as loud as they have in years gone by (that's a good thing).

Figured this year with us having Rick Pitino and not CMA, we would have at least matched last year's %'s.

I know it is hard to guess exactly what the breakdown is, but I remember last year feeling really happy not being outnumbered.
From my count it was 65/35 St. John’s.
