Jenkins & Dingle or Posh & Addae-Wusu

Storming Redmen

With the exception of Soriano these last few seasons, my two favorite players to watch were Posh and Dylan. The uniqueness of their physicality and mentality kept me glued, despite some, ahem, poor shot selection at times. Plus the thought of being a high schooler (I’m much older) and seeing them waltz into the gym as the opposing back court must’ve been unsettling. I was sad to see them go - and I know Coach had decisions to make which included evaluating more than just what the players were doing on the court. Before these past two games, even Coach was bemoaning his offense heavy roster choices. If you could go back as Coach and choose to keep the backcourt of Daniss & Jordan or keep Posh & Dylan, which would you choose? Only one pair can make the roster.

Dingle has had his issues getting acclimated to Pitino’s system but I would take Jenkins and Alleyne over Posh and Wusu any day!
Dingle has been a disappointment. He misses a ton of open shots. i dont get it. I thought hed be a scoring machine. Oh well. Alleyne has leaped him on the depth chart and I dont see Dingle getting back in the starting lineup. 11 games is a big enough sample size for me to see he just isnt what we thought he would be.

I agree Alleyne will start but I still think we see a better version of Dingle as the season progresses

Not to overstate Alleyne’s value, but another intangible imo is his ability to make others play better w his smart & unselfish play. I strongly believe Dingle will benefit from that.

Alleyne early on seems role model for smart, hard play at both ends and let’s hope it is infectious. Teamwork on this team is huge, net of Joel, no single guy can dominate.

Dingle is shooting 43%
Nahiem is shooting 44%

I think you could win with either.

I think Nahiem has been great in his role. I still prefer another guard next to him for 3 guard looks. Forgetting about this comparison with old vs new, with him and Daniss as your starting backcourt you are not getting many paint touches. The two of them have combined for 17 free throw attempts this season. That is frighteningly low.

FT productivity to date for them as noted by another poster is an issue

I looked at the UCONN fan site before the season and Alleyne was a well liked player and most wished he had stayed which is unusual for that fan base.

But dingle needs to do a lot better on the offensive end to make up for his defensive deficiencies. Allene gives them something on both ends of the floor. Check out their +/- in the Xavier game

100%

Was pointing out that offensively, Nahiem hasn’t been outplaying Dingle. They just had different expectations.

Way too early to give up on Dingle. Those who expected 24ppg are being unreasonable. I see him coming up with clutch performances down the road much like the Utah game. Still 2/3 of the season left for him to make a major impact.

I liked Posh but Wusu is maybe my least favorite Johnny ever. He made me wish we could donate to NIL for someone not to play for us.

Ha that’s pretty good re NIL, you might be onto something, like the Anti-NIL. I would put Curbelo up there as one of my least favorite in recent years. Disruptive, for all the wrong reasons.
