SLATER SCOOP: St. John's star hoops recruit, Zach Brown, arrested again. Accused of robbing a Walgreens. #sjubb slaterscoops.com/news/2017/1/9/…

Well, time to scramble for another 2017 big man. Sima thought he'd been recruited over. Guess he shouldn't have pulled the trigger so quickly

Well the flu and a bad stomach virus has been going around. Maybe really needed some NyQuil?
How come people don't rob banks anymore? If you are going to rob somewhere, go big I say.

My guess, and that's all this is, is that they go the graduate transfer route.

Unfortunately, we won't know the guys available until after the season.

Do we really want someone who had to know he was on his last chance and still pulls this stuff?

I just read this on my Twitter feed at work. The only thing I can say in my Florida Evans voice.

"Damn, Damn, Damn"

 maybe there's someone on the transfer market.

Yeah, don't think you need to worry about that anymore. That ship not only sailed but hit an iceberg sunk and all the survivors were eaten by sharks.

Although they are from different clases I now expect Moses Brown even more a priority.

Oh brother. This guy may not be "college material". Just sayin'...

Better for SJU that this happened sooner than later. Very slim chance he would've qualified next fall, anyway. Any JUCO/grad transfer that can reliably play the post would be a huge improvement. Ponds/Lovett/Simon need at least one decent big to supplement Clark.

He's a troubled kid who had an extremely difficult upbringing but I wouldn't be so fast to give up on him. Supposedly this latest charge is a misdemeanor.

JayVaughn Pinkston was arrested and charged with assault shortly after he arrived at Villanova. He was banned from the team--couldn't even practice with them for that first season. He stayed, started playing the next year and ended up graduating.

Who's to say that Mullin can't help Brown in a similar fashion?

Even before this was a long shot kid every showed up here. Now it is in Cleveland Browns win Super Bowl next year territory.

Kid was on probation. Had to be on his best behavior. Had his chance, blew it. Cut ties and hopefully Matt can find a competent JUCO or grad transfer.

Staff was frustrated with him in recent months, so consider this done IMO.

A generation ago, this would qualify him to coach our baseball team. Just saying.

Is he on campus yet? Where did this happen?

All I can say that in the big picture, this is a really small offense. However, given that this guy has so much riding on not stepping out of line, this shows a ridiculous level of stupidity and poor judgment.

Florida, grabbed cash from Walgreen's register.

My first thought was he has good hands, which we need, did not drop any of the loot.
