Zach Article - Mullin , no excuses

Maybe I’m reading too much into this article, but it left me the distinct impression that the doctors have cleared LoVett to play, but he has chosen not to bc he “doesn’t “feel confident enough in the knee.”

I’m not in any way criticizing LoVett if this is indeed the case — I don’t know the facts. But the whole thing seems very strange, including the tone of Zach’s article.

Exactly the response i woukd expect and hope for from CM .

We play every game to win, and don't make excuses. A decade ago NR would make excuses for every loss, and in America BO for 8 years blamed GWB.

Mullin is a Brooklyn guy, who played every minute of every game without excuses. Right guy to be coach in this situation

thanks for "some" clarity in the situation Zach. I know playing the last six games doesn't compare to the willis reed moment, but playing high level sports, you get injured. Im not doubting Marcus because what we've seen from him is a terrific kid who even sat a year wanting to be here. In general, athletes today are softer IMO. Randy Galdishar played the against Dallas with broken ribs and still had 10 tackles. You can't even breathe with broken ribs more or less play Pro football and make tackles. Bottom line is we trust Marcus wants to be out there as much as all of us fans want him there. This is the ONE game I think he should sit and rest. After that, if he can go, he needs tho get out there and give us something. A 85% Marcus LoVett for 5-8 mins in 1000% better than 5-8 mins of Amar or Trimble!

IT IS BETWEEN the doctors and Lovett Together they must feel he is ok to go. If he has been medically cleared to play, then its up to the player , If he still has some discomfort and again the doctors know that then he might just have to play thru it. FINAL decision is his especial if he comes back too soon and re-injurys it then it might become career ending. We would have won the last 2 games if we just sot our 3s and foul shooting better ilke we are capable even being out rebounded. As I said, now to win we need to be very good in these area every game.Lets hope we correct the ship today if not this yr can only get worse

What good would he do limping after people? This is basketball.

The guy needs to be 100%. Otherwise, opposing players will blow by him and break down the johnnies.

The idea of a player playing on an injured knee before it is properly healed gives me visions of Boobie Miles. For those of you unfamiliar with Boobie Miles I suggest you watch the film Friday Night Lights and see how that worked out.

The idea that Marcus should suck it up and play on an injured knee is both absurd and offensive. He is the only one that can make that call, period. His desire and positive attitude is on display at every game. Whether it is encouraging his teammates on the bench, during warm ups or in the huddles during timeouts he is always involved and enthusiastic.

When he is playing, Marcus always brings a ton of energy and passion to the court. He will return when it is the right time for him to return and no sooner.

As a fan it is frustrating to watch the team be undermanned in terms of overall depth. That said it is does not make sense to ask players to act against their own best health interests and suck it up because of some vague uninformed vision of other guys playing through injuries in the past.

Beastie, you and I both know that to blame things on GWB would be un-American and BO was definitely not un-American. True Americans learned long ago to blame everything on Dick Cheney.

At times I think the only people who make any sense here have "72" in the their screen name!;) :p
Our three bench players need to step up or none of them will be here next season. Unless Amar of course stays to be a grad assistant to help the new kids develop.:p

Most players in the NBA play nowhere near 100 percent. Isaiah Thomas is nowhere near 100 percent. Shamorie Ponds was nowhere near 100 percent against Creighton.

Not saying LoVett should play, just disagreeing with your statement that he needs to be 100 percent.
