Yanks

I just thanked you Old School, on your SJ preseason prediction. Now, I will strongly disagree on the post season for the hated Yankees. They are old. Alex isn't getting enough steroids these days and the pitching staff is unpredictable. Go Mets!! But thanks anyway!

You are why Yankees fans hate Mets fans.

Hate? nah. Just just make me laugh. The Yankees are old, but yet we're a half game better then the mets.I thought by spring training talk that the mets was going to own this city by now.

Delaware you just gotta understand that they are a very frustrated fan base. They have won anything in 29years, and that luck. Meanwhile, they seen the Yanks win 4 WS in 5 years and 5 all together since 86. You know they are still bitter about 2000 too.
So yes I understand our little brothers pain. :)

Watch for their reply. lol

Got it. Thanks.

How bout my boy Severino. In last 3 starts: 18IP 14Hits 2ERs and 18Ks and winning all 3
ARod, McCann and Bird went deep tonight 8 in the last 2 games. Toronto lost so it's down to 1/2game.
The Yanks are on fire now.

Hopefully they will be able to sustain it.

Took 2 of 3 from TB, gotta take atleast 2 of 3 from Baltimore. Gotta take atleast 3 of 4 from Toronto.

If we do that then we're looking good.

3 more HRs today. ARod will get 30HRs, and Bird with the big 3-run HR.
Gotta keep it rolling

Nasty Nate on the shelf though.

Might actually help us, short term.

Hopefully, Girardi stays with a 5 man rotation this turn through, because that would allow Tanaka to pitch on Sunday against Toronto (and he threw a complete game against them last time). In the original six man format they were planning to use, Tanaka would have missed the series.

Don't see how a 14 game winner on the shelf helps. Last time Pineda faced Orioles he struck out 16. That didn't carry over to yesterday. These pitchers need to be babied so I think 6 man rotation is the way to go. Also not much of a difference in Tanaka numbers with extra day of rest.

I want Tanaka pitching vs. Toronto, is my general point.

In general, you are right. The only pitcher on staff who seems negatively affected by an extra days' rest is Pineda, and Tanaka is used to it from his days in Japan (they go every 7 days there, but are rarely relieved). Still, I'd like to try to have Tanaka pitch against Toronto any way I could (especially since his turn almost certainly won't come up for the Skydome series in two weeks). Having him miss Toronto both times could be a blow to our division chances, IMO.

Yes, Eovaldi's won 14 games, but that's largely due to run support. He's been much better since the Marlins game disaster, but he's the #3 pitcher on staff, at best (#4 if Pineda can ever find consistency). We could use him, but a little rest (hopefully, that's all this is) might do him some good.

screw the 6 man rotation bs, keep it at 5 like it always has been.
With only 1 day off the rest of the way, Tanaka is going to have learn how to pitch every 5 days. What are they gonna do, start a callup?

By the way, see the met fans talking about trading us Harvey for Severino, and top prospects lmao.
Our little brothers want what we have even with that dominant young future staff. You'd think they'd be happy with that.

But I like them always thinking of the Yankees. Even with them having a good season. lol

Biggest win of the year tonight! A Met-like 9th inning comeback, scoring 4 after Ellsbury's DP made it two out and nobody on, down 1-0.

Arod has had a spectacular season, and I feel great for the kid Heathcott. He was hitting when he was here the first time, until he got hurt. Nice to see him with the big blow.

The unsung hero though, was CC. He did a great job keeping the Rays off the board for 6 2/3 innings while the Yankees couldn't get a hit.

Will last nights win light a fire up the hitters asses or back to no hitting tonight?
They have to hit to win, no matter how good our pitchers are pitching. Speaking of Ellsbury, I'd sit him the next 2 at TB and put him in at Citifield

That kid Heathcott was real pumped after his 3-run HR, clutch clutch HR there.

We'll need CC to continue how he had been pitching since coming back.

Warren goes tonight, hopefully we get atleast 5innings out of him tonight, and Severino tomorrow night so he doesn't go in the Mets serious which I don't mind. Rather him go vs. our Div rivals.

lol there's my answer, through 7innings they got 2HRs but had 3 hits altogether through 7, so only 1 hit besides the 2 Hrs. They are pathetic.

Tonight I'd start: McCann, Bird, ARod, and Gardner, and the other 5 have the call ups start.
Girardi has to send a message. If they don't hit then I'd rather them not even make the playoffs.

You guys don't get it, do you? Our wins and losses aren't what makes us Mets fans. Our World Series records don't either, (otherwise we'd all be Yankee fans). What makes us Met fans is the same quality that makes us Redmen fans. It's the belief in the unlikely, it's hope and loyalty and love of the game. I guess those same attributes are shared by Yankee fans, but I don't see it. I was a Brooklyn Dodger fan before I was a Met fan, so I'm used to being disappointed. So go ahead, be a smug Yankee lover. Why not switch your allegiance to U.Conn while you're at it? Yankee fans will never appreciate Met or Cub fans. That';s what makes beating you so satisfying.

Actually, I'm a Yankees and Giants fan for the same reason I'm an SJU fan: My father made me do it!

lol What happened Saturday and Sunday? 5-0 and 11-2 lol. Must really suck seeing Harvey only going 5innings after giving up only 1 hit huh?

Lets see some Yankee #s at citi field: 3 shutout\s in last 5 games Yanks played there, 8 straight games starters allowed 2 or fewer earned runs there, 12 times in 19 total games starters have allowed 1 or fewer runs, 13-6 Yankees record at citi. :)

Oh by the way you 9 1/2 lead is down to 6 UH OH. Starting to panic met fans?

I'm just glad this series is over with, now onto our biggest series of the year, @ Toronto
