While the Yankees are the majority shareholder of YES, they currently own less than 30% of the shares. Its management structure is totally different and separate from the structure of the baseball team. Like Cashman on the baseball side, the head of YES and his minions run the operations. Hal might have say over certain operational decisions but this didn’t not come from him. YES’ management team are highly respected individuals most of whom made their bones elsewhere.Yes doesn’t sneeze without orders.
