Yankees 2025 Season

Walks were the killer today. 6 walks, and they led to the Met runs. Ruined an otherwise well pitched game. Some nice defense today on the Bellinger to Volpe to Escarra throwout at the plate to save a run, and DJ flashing some leather as well. They had their chances offensively, but could not string together a key hit when needed. Need Fried to shut things down tomorrow to win this series.

Hopefully Fried pitches like his normal self and shuts it down tomorrow night.

DJ looked good today.

A home run, another hit, and he absolutely stung that ball with 2 on in the 8th inning. Unfortunately, Soto almost literally didn't have to move to catch it, but he still caught it anyway.

Judge, meanwhile, is starting to go into a bit of a funk, which was probably inevitable. He's starting to chase pitches, which is when he goes bad. He was doing it in Seattle series, but still got the big homer, and 2 more hits last night, but he's been chasing more lately.

Yankees starters need to keep the number of walks to a minimum, for obvious reasons, especially to hitters leading off an inning.

0 for 6 with RISP. Crappy. Needed a fly ball to break a tie and hit a weak grounder instead.

Good win and good to see Bellinger heating up. Another good start by Fried. Would be nice to see Volpe be more patient and productive at the plate but we got 2 of 3 so we take it and move forward.

Great to win a series, especially against the Muts.

Fortunately Bellinger and Goldschmidt came through with RISP, but with 8 walks and 7 hits and a total of 17 hitters getting on, we need more from the rest of the lineup getting runners in. Can't leave 9 runners LOB. Vivas did have a nice at bat in the 8th.

Another solid job by the pitching staff tonight and throughout the series.

Easily could have been a sweep. Onward and upward.

What's up with the Martian not being more aggressive on the bases? Reminds me of the way Bernie Williams ran (or did not run) the bases. Would love to see him take the extra base more often.

Yankees have won 4 straight series, and are 8-3 in the last 11 games. Not dominating, but playing good, solid, consistant baseball.

That 10-run inning aginst the Padres a couple of weeks ago (I was at that game-the place was rocking) appears to have turned things around for this team. Certainly, it got struggling players like Bellinger and Dominguez out of their funks.

I love the Martian's bat, but when they go with an outfield alingment of Bellinger-Grisham-Judge, that might be the top defensive outfield in baseball.
