The Pitcher of the Month in April is off to an even better start in May. 7 innings of 1-hit ball. Williams and Weaver each with a 1-2-3 inning out of the pen, for a combined 1-hitter.

Fried now 6-0 with a 1.01 ERA.

Judge continues to defy logic. He is in a zone few have ever seen. Fried is pitching at a Cy Young Award level. Goldschmidt has been fantastic. Didn't recognize the guy who pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the 8th. Haven't seen that guy all year.

The injuries in the pitching staff have hurt, but the starters aside from Fried and Rodon have not given them enough, and the bullpen is getting worn out. They have way too many soft and ineffective at bats. The defense overall is not great, and they still are not good running the bases. Good thing that the rest of the AL is not great.

It’s going to be a long year if they can’t hold 3-0 leads in the 8th inning. They must get this Williams guy straightened out quickly because he has been a mess so far. Let’s see if the offense can make a come back.
