Yankees 2025 Season

Wanted a shortstop that can field ground balls, A seconD baseman that can reach first base without.bouncing the ball plus catch a throw.from the catcher, and a first base man that can scoop one hop throws. Apply in da bronx. All must have a base running brain.

The Pretenders were at it again tonight with yet another disgusting overall performance.

They were bad in all the categories they are bad at. All the reasons why this team is going nowhere in the playoffs. How do you show up and do nothing in a game you need to win to stay ahead of the other teams fighting for a wild card spot?

They struck out 14 more times. Success is not attainable swinging and missing, game after game.

What was Caballero doing getting picked off second? What was Caballero doing shoveling a throw slowly to second on an easy, hard hit DP ball?

What was Chisholm doing making a bad throw to first?

Stanton sucks. Never liked him, never will. 4 Ks in 4 ABs tonight. Awful.

Everyone was overmatched by a pedestrian Twins starter.

WTF is going on with Weaver? Yanks have screwed around with him, and now he's become useless to them. Idiot Boone thought he had good stuff. Yeah, right.

Screwing around with Weaver did not affect his effectiveness. He was pitching well as the setup man and the closer when Williams struggled before Weaver’s stint on the IL. He has not been the same since he returned from the IL.

Weaver was a failed starter who the Yankees acquired and tinkered with in the minors in 2024 and impressed with the big club in September that year. He was great last year but relievers are a volatile commodity and performances can vary year to year. Maybe we caught lightning in the bottle last year and earlier this year and he has just returned to his norm or maybe he changed something due to the injury earlier this season or it effected the movement of the ball. Reminds me of Ian Hamilton who was really good his first year here and has struggled ever since.

Didn’t see the game last night (good). Chisholm has a good arm especially for a second baseman and might not be a gold glover but is not a bad fielder. He will bounce back.

The comment about a first basemen being able to scoop the ball led me to believe Rice was at first last night but looking at the box score I see it was Goldsmith who is usually very good at that and is a good defender.

Base running is still a bugaboo with this team. They are not good instinctively and are poorly instructed/coached in this area. That is an organizational thing that should have been addressed but still hasn’t.

Need to move on and win tonight. One game at a time, no looking ahead.

The Pretenders bent, but didn't break, barely. Pathetic performance by the bullpen, but Schlittler didn't help. Disappointing effort by him. Case in poi t. 1st inning, had a chance to get out of ghr inning at 10 pitches, loses the late, a d finishes somewhere north of 20 piches.. Thenp0

Boston and Houston are now tied for the second wildcard spot.

Do I dare say that I'd rather face Houston in the wildcard series, than Boston? They don't have a starter as good as Garrett Crochet, and in a best-of-3 series, that could make all the difference.

I agree with your comment. Time to beat that team and Alvarez having a bad ankle doesn’t hurt either.

This Yankee team is not good enough to pick and choose its opponent.
Their defense, relief pitching, lack of fundamentals, lack of generating runs other than homers, etc…
is not a good recipe for the postseason. As we have seen many games where the wheels fall of in a matter of minutes.
Just have to hope to avoid the calamities and pray the starting pitching holds up.
