So we had a lively discussion in Section 224 regarding why the hell did Boone take out Warren. One person, he is at 90 (91) pitches, someone else third time through the lineup. The majority was like so what 91 pitches, let him pitch.

The majority was right.

When this team has a bad inning, it is disastrous.

Two starts in a row where Idiot Boone takes out Warren too early. This is playoff baseball. Extend your starters, especially when you don't know what you're going to get from this questionable bullpen.

Then he leaves Cruz in too long.

It's hard to win when you have 2 automatic outs at the bottom of the order with Volpe and McMahon. Grisham swings at a 3-0 pitch with 2 outs in front of Judge. Not a good idea there.

I've never been a fan of Leiter. 7 walks by Yankees pitching tonight. Horrible.

12 more strikeouts tonight. Stanton back to being a non-impact.

And of course, the Jays come back to win late.

The Pretenders are playing for 2nd place on the East and a Wild card spot only.

One of Leiter’s wild pitches was so bad, it bounced right back to the catcher Wells (no one advanced). I have never seen a ball bounce back off of the backstop right back to the catcher like that before in Yankee Stadium. Since no one advanced, it wasn’t a wild pitch, just a ball as in no harm no foul.

100% agree on your Grisham take, even if he has 30 homers.
