The only reason why this game was close was because the Red Sux were 3 for 19 with RISP. Yankees were shut down the last 4 innings by retread relievers Wilson, Weissert, Matz and Chapman, who blew a bunch of saves for the Yanks, but has dominated them this season. This team still plays like a Little League team too much. Too many infield misplays, a catcher who can't throw trying to throw out a runner from his knees, pitchers who absolutely can't field their position, a simple DP that couldn't be made. The list goes on and on.
Gil was afraid of hitting bats tonight. Too many friggin walks, Doval looks horrible, and once again Weaver struggles. Why couldn't Leiter start the 7th? There is not one reliever that they can depend on.
Did Boone say the Yanks had some good swings? The only reason why this game was close was because the Red Sux were 3 for 19 with RISP. The Chisholm AB with Rice on 3rd was terrible. McMahon is a bad hitter. His ABs are not competitive. Thought Volpe could have had a couple of dingers. Judge and Stanton have to step up in this series.
Rice was pathetic behind the dish, but at the plate, he was big. For next season they have to find a position for this guy and teach him how to play it well, or he's destined to be a DH, which they don't have room for.
4 errors tonight. Only 3 earned runs for the Red Sux.
9 walks by Yankees pitching, constantly behind every hitter.
They are, The Pretenders.

I don't get the Yankees pitching strategy. Bednar throws 4 off speed balls to the lead off hitter, who promptly steals 2nd on an off speed pitch.
Then Volpe gives up an easy out trying to make a play on the runner retreating to 2nd. WTF is going on here?
