Yankees 2025 Season

A win helps a bit. Decent pitching continues. Need to get really healthy ABs against a horrible Orioles pitching staff.

Baserunning smarts still elude this team, contrary to what idiot Boone says and thinks.

A horrible home stand continues.

Bad loss. Fried had nothing in the 1st inning and it affected his ability to last deep into the game.

Struggling against the East. Everyone seems hot except the Yanks.

Feels like they rushed Weaver back for no logical reason. Urias seems to hurt the Yanks a lot.

Let friggin Sanchez, coming in under .200 to beat them tonight.

With Volpe Struggling, why not have him bunt with runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs?

Then Wells GIDP with one out. Hit a f*cking fly ball!!

You have win a game with your ace on the mound and the lead late in the game.

3 or 13 with RISP ain't going to cut it. Yanks shut out the last 6 innings. Putrid.

Volpe needs a few days off.

Again, Boone saying they had quality ABs. THEY WERE SHUT OUT THE LAST 6 INNINGS, you fool!!

crap loss. made worse since kraken was a big reason for the loss.
tough first inning for both pitchers.
volpe . zero for 4. stranded 6 baserunners.
replay people are either lazy or taking heat for long time to make the call.
so now they are too often letting the on field decision stay.

Except, of course, if they call a close play on the field on our favor, initially. They have no problem overturning that.

Some relevant stats which tell the story:

Record in 1 run games: 12 - 15
Record in 1 or 2 run games: 15 - 23
Comeback wins : 15 ( near bottom)
Largest comeback win : 2 runs (worst) nearly impossible
Extra Innings : 1 - 5

All with a plus 99 run differential and expected record of 48 - 27

rice a runnie - 3rd yankee solo getty

stop the presses. volpe gets a single. 80 foot blast. volpe scores the 6th run. sends his spikes to cooperstown.

9-0 Yankees, middle of the 7th inning, but the game is getting very, very interesting.

Unfortunately, at over 100 pitches through 7 innings, I doubt they will let Clarke Schmidt try and finish this one off.

Schmidt was outstanding today, and the Yankees should look to extend him now before he gets too expensive. Boone is a coward for not letting him have a shot at a no no, but a leopard can't change his spots. Rice, Escarra and Volpe with great offensive games today. Go get the series win tomorrow.

this was the greatest comeback in the long and storied history of the yanks/birds.
6th inning torture. 7th inning torture. 8th inning ecstasy.
thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhe yankees win.

In the bottom of the 7th inning (I think), the Yanks had first and second and the pitcher threw a wild pitch. Guess what happened???? While the runner on second sped to third, the runner on first (Grisham I think) stayed on first. I think he was concerned that if he ran to second, he might dislocate an eyelash. I can’t wait to find out what his excuse was.

Didn’t see play but sometimes the runner on first is concerned that the runner on second might not try to advance and you’ll end up with two runners at second. Another possibility is you basically need to make a split second decision and if you initially decide not to go it’s too late to change your mind. Of course it could have been that his head was just not in the game at that moment which is inexcusable.

If Grisham had went to second on that wild pitch, Baltimore would have walked Judge, who was up, to load the bases since first would have been now open. Judge wound up striking out but at least he took some hacks with first and third and 2 outs, when they were down a run.
