Yankees 2016

The first thing I would do is trade Headly... Literally for anything. A happy meal... Doesn't matter. He is horrible. By accident you should be able to get an extra base hit in a full month of baseball.
What team would take his contract?

No team in their right mind. You gotta eat almost all of it. I'd rather Refsnyder learn on the job then have Headly. We can't lose any more by having Ref play. He's been practicing third in the minors. Idk... time to move on from these old guys.. Just my opinion

Hicks is garbage too, 2-26 after last night. Headley batting 156 with no extrabase hits at all.
Teixeira 3Hrs and hitting 225, Gardnet 243, Ells 247.

Here's the rest of the hitters with big contracts:
Ellsbury: 7 years/$153M (2014-20), plus 2021 option
14-20: $21,142,857.15 annually. 21:$21M club option ($5M buyout)
McCann: 5 years/$85M (2014-18), plus 2019 option
Gardner: 4 years/$52M (2015-18), plus 2019 option
Headley: 4 years/$52M (2015-18)
Castro: 7 years/$60M (2013-19), plus 2020 option
Ackley: 1 year/$3.2M (2016)
Gregorius: 1 year/$2.425M (2016)
Hicks: 1 year/$0.574M (2016)
Bird 1b: 1 year/$0.5253M (2016)

So we got Ells for atleast another 4yrs, Gardner another 2, I trade them for minor league players.
Drop Teix, Beltran, and Hicks is garbarbage.
No one want ARods contract, so we have him for 1 more year. lol He leads the teams in Hrs (5), and RBIs (12), who is 2nd in HRs? Beltran (4). Very sad.
Have Headley for another 2 years, they should buy that bum out.

Chapman coming back to the club. 5 years/$86 million. He can opt out after 3.

Guess that trade with the Cubs worked out well for both sides, huh?

Hey dudes. Cautiously optimistic about the future. I think we can be competitive in 2017. I just like that it really depends on how the kids play.

Sanchez, Bird, Judge and solid bench contributions from Austin & Refsnyder

Not to mention 2/5ths of our rotation looks to be Green, Cessa, Mitchell or Severino.
