@Xavier, Wed. Jan. 17, 8:30pm, CBS SN/570AM

Xavier by 18, interior guys O'Mara & Kanter give us trouble opening up perimeter opportunities for their shooters.

St. John's by 5. EVERYBODY comes out of their slump. Especially Kassoum Yakwe who returns to his shot-blocking defensive presence. Amar Alibegovic has the best game of his career and Trimble hits 3 3's. The bench wins this game. Mullin does get a technical for saying "whadafckwasdat" to the refs one time too many. A couple of the fans go on to boast "where are all you morons that thought Chris Mullin couldn't coach!"?

Stupid T on Simon. Reflects the lack of discipline demanded by the coaches.

It looks like Trimble has become our 6th guy off the bench.

Shouldn't the clock have stopped after Xavier's last made basket? We had
12 seconds and half of it ran off before we ever touched the inbounds. really?

Oh, if we could only play D against the three. Teams play us and their 3 pt shooting % goes thru the roof. HOPE WE ARE BRINGING IN SOME GUARDS THAT CAN SHOOT NEXY YR. I have never seen so many uncontested deep shots. We must be slow. But hey, down by 7 not bad interpolate that out and we only lose by 14. Things looking up

Clock doesn't stop in first half in college only at the end of the game. Not referencing you but I know many of our fans think the refs should make an exception just for us and the fact they don't is just more evidence of bad calls and bad luck that seems to plague us more than any other team on the face of the earth year in and year out.

We're not slow our defensive scheme is to collapse anytime the ball enters the lane. That's why the rest of our D looks so good, but it leaves very open 3's and makes every team we play better at the three than they normally are. The approach needs to change. Collapsing on the lane id ok but multiple people don't need to collapse which is just poor execution. Second, we need to be more discriminating. You don't collapse if Bluett, Macura or Gates are your man. Instead you rely on your straight up D and risk the 2 rather than giving the open 3. And you need to mix it up so the other team doesn't know exactly what's coming. Xavier looks likes its running its offense from a rocking chair!

Don't think that. Was just asking.
We make plenty of bad luck all by ourselves.

OTPH the call on Ponds down 4 vs Villanova was the worst blown call I've ever seen. No conspiracy, just Sh*t luck.
