Xavier, Sun. Jan. 29, 6pm, FS1/970AM

This game should be on campus, I am not sure why it is at MSG on a Sunday night. Same with Marquette Wednesday.

Looking at Ticketmaster there has to be about 15,000 seats available.

After last nights victory we should get a decent crowd. Always like our chances at the garden. Haven't played a hell of a lot of games this year at MSG. Also won't hurt to get a few in before the Big East Tournament.

Nice quote
Despite all the losing and frustration
There are some positives
We are 10-12 & 4-5 BE
Before the season I thought 15 W range was a reasonable target ( I recall many posters felt that way)

Now I'd take 13-14 & 6-7 BE
and call it a good or at least a decent
second season!

( can we - I forget the term we used in the schoolyards for a do-over - can we "re-do" LIU & Del State? :) )

1. Everyone play hard for 40 minutes. No standing around and looking at loose balls. No casually sliding over on the "help" defense.
2. Everybody hit the boards.
3. Get Williams minutes in the post.
4. Must cut and get ball movement to free our guards up for 3s against their taller players, and the 3s have to drop. it would be nice to see a screen or a curl someplace.
5. Stop the damn ball.

Do all that and we have a chance. But we aren't beating Xavier if anybody decides to take parts of the night off. As I think they are learning, a lot of it is about hustle and focus. Gotta bring it 40 minutes every night in this conference or you will get spanked.

A reminder for those who are going. The women's team plays at MSG at 3:00 (I believe, against Xavier, too). That game is included with your ticket.

Kyle Washington on Cincinatti is the kind of transfer we need. 6'9 4 star recruit that originally went to NC State. He is a beast. Gary Clark as well. Also 4 stars but both were near the bottom of the ESPN 100.

I believe Marvin Clark and Justin Simon were both top 50 players

Sumner to me is Xavier's best player & he is struggling with a shoulder injury apparently. Let Ahmed play their other scorer, Bluiett, & give it a go. We have a shot in this one. This is not a vintage Xavier team IMO.

I have two for free. Send me pm & name, e-mail address so I can transfer them via web site.

Simon was. My point is that Cincinnati is picking up wide body 6'9 guys that are obtainable. These guys are strong high school players but not elite and Cincinnati while a strong program plays in the AAC. We can get tough big guys if we put in the work and should be able to get shooters because I truly believe that Mullin and Richmond can teach players to shoot and handlers do to.

X plays Cincy tonight in backyard brawl. Any effect on our game Sunday? Don't think so, but just asking.

Well since Xavier was beaten by their crosstown rival last night they should be up for the game against us. At one point in the second half Xavier had allowed 19 offensive rebounds and 20 plus second chance shots. They obviously don't have to worry that happening on Sunday. Bluiett was kind of hot, going for 40 points. Looks like Ellison will have his hands full. I don't like their height or guard penetration. Can't let Sumner blow by untouched. This could be a big win.
