@Xavier, Sat., Feb. 4, 5p, FOX

We are going to be at least 20 point dogs, if not more. The Xmen are going to beat us like a.........if I say it I'll get a warning! 😜

I hope the fans and administration want to see the defense improved first and foremost. But maybe that’s just me. And I think it’s much more possible for this staff and team to make some adjustments and be better on that end. Offensively, I fear I’ve got close to no faith with the combination of players and coach, that it gets better in any real significant sense.
It really is not in this team's DNA to dramatically become a cohesive defensive unit in a short period of time. They commit the same errors game after game. An opposing player is allowed to get hot and no adjustments are made to cool his jets. Montez Mathis was the best at that task and his career is over.
On the other hand, I think the old adage "the best defense is a good offense ".
We have three players in Soriano, Storr and Jones who should be set up more to score by players like Posh, Curbelo and Wusu. The offensive sets are ineffective because too many times players are allowed to improvise coupled with poor passes and decision-making.
Four players: Posh, Curbelo, Wusu and Jones, need to be drilled in valuing the ball and finding the shooters. These players tend to drive more than pass for the open shot.
There needs to be more movement on offense and faster ball movement.
Unfortunately, I have less confidence that this team is capable of sustainable defensive pressure without eventually leaving an opposing player open to shoot the 3 ball.

At this stage of the season sadly I’m not expecting anything different after seeing every game I was at the game and not really surprised by hall winning. So many open layups and shots
but a glut ant for punishment I’ll be at msg for prodence

In all likely hood the Xavier game will follow form of the past games of this season with a very small expectation of a victory . Xavier’s home court in Cinn have not been friendly confines to our team over the years , not just the Anderson years . To the best of my recollection . They will be without Freemantle , who was wearing a boot against Providence . Yet , still eked out a close decision over the Friars . We are not in the Musketeers level this season on a body of work criteria against the league . Miller Vs CMA is a mismatch

The only way we cover is if we win.

This is either gonna be a blowout or we play way over our heads and win.

The good news….. Fremantle is out. The bad news is…. The rest of the team and a superior coaching staff is not.

While I will never root for the Johnnies to lose, I will root for whatever needs to be done to make the coaching change a swift and certain one so the program can move on in a positive direction.

I love St. John’s, but for the rest of the season I am rooting for 3 things.

Soriano keeps up his double double numbers
AJ keeps getting better
CMAs not having a losing season streak ends

The season is lost. Such a shame

Likely two of those three individuals are gone next year.
