Twenty one Xavier students have received appointments to West Point since 9/11, including five this year.
Among them is Jack Rosenhammer, a 2008 grad from Queens who ran last year's New York City Marathon in military boots and fatigues while toting a 35 pound pack pack to show solidarity with the troops.
Rosenhammer is in basic training this summer at West Point after two failed tries to get in while bidding his time in ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY'S ROTC program.
