Williams and Ellison ?

i will be smh if they play today against chaminade and not those other ranked teams.

Doubt that happens but why? Maybe they weren't cleared medically for yesterday but are for today.

I have a feeling that, at least with Ellison, the injury is worse than merely a "sore foot". Unfortunately, and I guess its their prerogative, this athletic department has lied or sugar-coated reasons why a kid has been out before. Don't think he would've been in a cast and on crutches at the Rutgers game with just a sore foot.

Not to jump ahead, but if it is something like a stress fracture, I assume they could redshirt him, despite playing a few games, no?

The rules say it has to be (1) an “incapacitating injury or illness" (2) the injury occured before the second half of the season and (3) he played less than 30% of the team's overall games.

So yes, if it's serious, they could medical redshirt him.

Was Ellison hurt his last year in high school ? Is it the same injury, or his he just prone to injury ? Will he learn to play while hurt or is this much more serous ? if he redshirts, his future and promising career will be suspect and in doubt.

He was injured at some point in high school. I can't remember whether he got hurt during his junior or senior season.

Yup. I tried to tell some people that he is injured and being signed while injured, was on crutches when he visited. This doesn't sound good, I think he has been playing through the injury and now he just cannot play through it. No bueno.

Its funny you wrote that. Because I think that is what happened to Williams. I dont think he was 100% to begin w. The good news is if he heals, he may be capable of playing at a higher level . Even if it is next year that would be a plus. The question is: Is he ever going to be 100%?

Has anyone heard an update on the status of injuries to Williams and Ellison?

I have heard not to expect Malik for the "foreseeable" future unfortunately.

High suspicion we are dealing with a stress fracture

I just had a Mason Jr. Flashback. Could we be looking at a redshirt

Have heard they are both candidates to redshirt due to injury. In Williams case would need a sixth year waiver to use all 3 of the remaining years he has left of eligibility.

Might as well redshirt them. I really wanted to watch Ellison play. Didn't His father struggle with injuries?

Yes -- that is why he was called "Never Nervous, Always Out of Service" Purvis...

honestly with the addition of Yakwe, all we need is to get LoVett elligible and we will be fine. Having LoVett will erase the memories ( short memories ) of Williams and Ellison. Now we are 1 injury away from a totally mess. Hate to wish for "real" injuries to these kids, but I hope that is the case and not that they are just soft. Crazy as that sounds, having them both redshirt will only make us deeper in the future.....if they are not injury prone. With that said, feel better fellas
