I would suggest that posters take a few things into consideration. This would be particularly relevant to some who have posted on this thread.
First, read the site rules. They are sticky-ed in the top of this forum. Not hard to find.
Second, don't get cute. While some of the moderators happen to be lawyers, we aren't going to lawyer with you. You all know the basics: don't curse, don't insult other posters (even when they insult you), don't denigrate the players, coaches, or university staff personally, don't spam the site. "Don't curse" does not mean come up with cutesy ways around it. "Don't insult other posters" is of course difficult, since no-one is as smart as you, or you, or you. But find a way to disagree without being disagreeable. It's possible, really. Try. "Don't denigrate the players, etc" should be easy. Feel free to comment on bonehead plays or coaching. You can criticize someone's performance, within reason. Stay away from haircuts, tattoos, race, color, creed, etc. Here's a tip for "don't spam the site." If you post more than 3 times on the same thread, the glimmer of a thought should start to enter your head that you've said enough. If you post 10 times on the same thread, that glimmer should become a spotlight. If you go 15+, then we are talking about the headlight of an onrushing train that is about to run you over.
Third, don't call out or otherwise harass the moderators. They are fans and volunteers. They don't get paid for doing what they do. All they get is to satisfaction of contributing to a readable site that allows all of you to talk about the team we all root for. That someone is a moderator doesn't mean that they don't get to post, or to have opinions, or anything else. There are about a dozen moderators, some of whom are more visible to you than others, but all of whom are regularly on the site and who may move your posts. There is absolutely no reason for any of you to call out any moderator on your (almost invariably wrong) assumption that the moderator you may have seen post did something to your pearls of wisdom. If you are perplexed, PM any of the mods and you will get an answer. You may not like the answer, but what you can be assured of is that whatever was done was considered by the moderators and that most or all of them agreed with whatever was done. That's the way it works. This is not an unregulated free-for-all, and if you don't like it then you should find someplace else to post.
Finally, if you get a PM from a moderator on behalf of the group of moderators calling something to your attention, then if you want to keep posting here then you should probably take it into consideration. Because usually if things get to that point then you have offended a large majority of the moderators to the point where suspending or revoking your posting privileges has been strongly considered. Again, if that happens then it's nothing personal - the moderators are a diverse group, and if you get such a PM then you have succeeded in unifying all or almost all of them in condemnation of your posts.
We appreciate everyone's contributions to the site. Think of your posts as flowers, and try not to let them become weeds that choke out the other posts.
Thank you.
