I enjoyed watching 15 year old American Katie Ledecky destroy the competition in the 800m Freestyle. The favored British swimmer finished a distant 3rd for the bronze. Seeing the 15 year old on the medal stand with the gold around her neck, while she's singing along to our national anthem, with tears streaming down her cheeks, made me proud for her and our country. I could care less about a bunch of ego maniac basketball players beating upon some hapless team. It's the individual accomplishments of American athletes like Katie, and the rest of our men and women swimmers that I enjoy watching, as well as our great Women's beach volleyball team.
