What's up with D'lo?

Can't seem to get any factual details on him. The Rockets summer league roster doesn't list him...
Houston plays tonight at 10pm. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

At least we get to watch Sir'Dom tonight!

Great news for D'angelo .. I wish him well.
He seems willing to step out of his comfort zone, so I think he'll enjoy Europe.
Enjoy playing ball for a living

Also, fwiw ... (and remember who this is coming from) he continues to credit Lavin every chance he gets. Classy move by Dlo, and credit to Lavin if he really did help "turn his life around".

In honor of D'LO my avatar back to wearing my SJU gear at the Blue Mosque in Istanbul

Great to hear. And no doubt his time in NYC and his growth as a person during his four years at St. John's have prepared him to adjust to life overseas more easily. Wish him nothing but the best, and hope that he will, in fact, "be back better than ever!"

Come to think of it if Obekpa ends up playing overseas other than Amsterdam Turkey might be the best fit because the hookah is very similar to a bong so it could kind of be like the bong version of an E-Cigarette for him

D'Lo will have an amazing experience in Turkey, which was one of our finer trips. The sights are amazing in Istanbul, and we also traveled to Kusadasi Turkey, only to be blown away by Ephesus, which has more ruins than Rome and Athens combined, IMO.

Warning to D'Lo....Turkey is the home of the original fake and puts Chinatown to shame. :)

I also hope Obekpa is able to watch Midnight Express on the flight over. :woohoo:

we wanted to do Ephesus also because everyone says that place is amazing but figured between Istanbul and Capaddocia anything else would be stretching things time wise so we are definitely going to do Ephesus next time

Did you eat any wet burgers in Istanbul ? Turkish version of white castle burgers but more addictive ?

Obekpa would love those after a night of smoking

I just get the feeling he'll be back with St. John's in some capacity before all is said and done. He loves the school and never wastes an opportunity to show it. I hope it works out that way

I went to Ephesus on a cruise. I thought it was good but certainly not great--although there are some pretty awesome photo opportunities. The only thing that was close to mind-blowing was visiting the place where the women make those amazing carpets...so much detail they are only able to make like 4-5 in their entire lives. That's pretty crazy.

I bought one of those carpets in goreme. Took 1 year to make it and guarantee original. Stunning work all those women do. Best money I ever spent

From what I have found you can make good money over there. It is one of the top euro leagues in Europe and contracts of $1mm are possible for stars. I'm sure D'Lo is making six figures and way more than a d league salary.

It's a good move for him, not hopping around the D-league if it's not the right fit. He can make real good money overseas and continue to improve his game, maybe eventually pro here eventuslly. I still feel that if D'lo wants a career here in the USA, coaching or broadcasting will be his best bet. He'd be a great competitive coach in college here with that killer instinct. I'd love to see him spend a few years playing pro ball and then come back here and start coaching in college ranks, maybe for us some day. He's got a great story and was one of my favorite players ever here simply because of his sheer will and killer instinct. He's got a lot of charisma and I think would make a great coach some day. As silly as it might sound, he's our version of Wojo except a bit better player and a lot less annoying...lol
