Bob, a 40-year fixture in the Marillac cafeteria, is serving up the 50-cent hot dogs. (Warning: Don't eat them.)
 
Greetings from Maui,

A bit humid and some rain here but if that's the worst thing that happends, you are having a pretty good day.

Spoke with The Mink Man, John Minko as well as Fr. Rock

Team just finished breakfast. They have practice at the gym at Noon.

Fans of all teams here at The Sheraton.

Say what you will about Bill Walton -- all very funny and with a more than a trace of truth -- the man was unquestionably one of THE greatest players ever. When he was healthy, he was in the stratosphere with the other basketball elites, and I loved watching him play.
 
At the Coaches Dinner being held at The Hyatt Regency Maui

Over 1,500 people in attendance.

Lots of fun as well as hula dancers.

Fran is the host of a coaches Q&A

Chris talking about his days playing with Steve Alford on the Olympic
team under Bobby Knight.

Only 24 of us here but what we lack in numbers we make up in enthusiasm.

If I'm not mistaken, during the season where he suffered his first major injury, after 50 games or so the Trailblazers were on target for the NBA's best single season record ever. At the time, he was perhaps the most skilled center ever, a guy was as good as any inside, but could step outside and make a 20 foot shot, could rebound and block shots, handle the ball, and was as good a passer as many guards. I believe in his final college game, he shot something like 22/23 from the field. Because of injuries, he basically was a shell of himself after that. Not unlike Don Mattingly, his career was mostly a what could have been if he remained healthy.

I don't think Mrs. Walton has any worry about anyone thinking she picked out that outfit. You can take him out of LA, but you can't take the Flower Child out of him.
