Heart Break
First Kiss (with my current Girlfriend) Overtime game at the Garden. We ended up losing (vs Marquette) but that was our first date. In a moment of elation after a big basket, we jumped screamed and hugged. Then I just went in for the Kiss.

I can go on and on all day, but Ill stop here.

Good idea, Eddie Jean, to stop at the kiss. Don't think we want to go beyond that.

Lol point taken. Enjoy your Christmas

Anxiously awaiting a Johnnies basketball season as far back as the Zeke Zawoluk years.
Helping as a scout for Louie.
Being close friends with Louie and Jack Kaiser.
Having my high school basketball team practice after St.John's did at Flushing Armory. Our gym was unavailable at the time so Lapchick and Louie worked it out for us.
Remembering all the thrills before the games against Syracuse and G'town when the fans began their chants before they came out on the garden floor.
Wearing their colors so proudly.
And most importantly giving my youngest son so many thrills being an avid fan from the eighties to 2010, attending all Alumni and garden games. Recently he passed from brain cancer but never gave up on his Redmen.

Jack I am so so very sorry to hear about your son. My Dad was diagnosed with brain cancer this past September, 2 days before his 88th birthday. He chose to fight (once a Marine always a Marine) rather than go home and be made comfortable, but sadly we lost him 2 weeks ago today to an infection that his compromised immune system(from chemo/radiation) was to weak to fight off. I am not trying to compare the 2 situations as I cannot imagine anything worse than losing a child. None the less it has been a rough holiday season for us. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Jack, I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost a daughter to Leukemia when she was 16, and it gets tough during the holidays. May God bless you and your family.

Frank may your family have peace and comfort during this holiday season. So very sorry.

Jack and Frank - Thank you for sharing your grief with us. Our prayers are with you, your children and your parents.

Wow ! Where does one start?

First of all Merry Christmas Paul and thank you for being "the straw that stirs the drink" here on Redmen.

If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have met so many great people and fellow St. John's fanatics.

We are all united by our passion and loyalty.

Among my fondest memories was taking my father to many. many St. John's games including The Final 4 in '85.

He wasn't an alumnus but he adopted the team as his own and wore a red cardigan with the St. John's Indian logo on it almost every day during the season.

Great stories, and I can only add my condolences to those who have lost loved ones, it is truly difficult and many prayers there to all.

What the Redmen have given me is so much fun, and the one thing I am most passionate about other than my wife and daughters..... and I am known throughout my family, my friends, co workers, former co workers, as “that St. John’s guy”, and I wouldn’t for one moment trade it for anything else.
