Welcome Yankuba

Yes, welcome to the Redmen Yankuba!!! Looking forward to watching you for 4 years, along with Darien and Tariq as the latest additions.

I have time on my hands lately, but I'm still finding it hard to keep up with the constant news. I'll take it, especially when it's all been positive. Great energy around our team these days.

@Yankusima: Proud to say that I have committed to the University of Sant John's!!

I forget who the recruit was, but I do recall a recruit during the Fraschilla years also announcing (on television) that he was going to attend the "University of St. John's".

Coach Mullin and company are making recruiting look easy.

That was the mystery recruit that went to Newfoundland and was never heard from again.

the reason why he said the school name backwards is because of his spanish. it is always universidad de (fill in the blank). one of the few things i learned in spanish class. :cheer:
Didn't realize Ron Ron spoke Spanish while in HS. :)

@AdamZagoria: .@DraftExpress just told us that St. John's got a steal in Spanish big man @Yankusima , who is a potential pro prospect. More on the Podcast

@AdamZagoria: 'Sima is a better prospect than anybody St. John's has had during the Lavin regime' - @draftexpresshttp://t.co/gGAJZpxVG6 @BoomerandCarton

I hope this guy is right but I really wish people would let the kid play before they started making these bold statements.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and only expect 16/9 a night, which is just slightly more than Moe Harkless' avg.

Givony actually does a lot of overseas scouting so I'll take his word over some of these beat writers and bloggers who never leave the office.

He also doesn't show a lot of love to SJU players so if he's saying this, then it may have some legs.

If anything I like the possibility that this makes CO move to what probably is his natural and best position as a PF and weak side help defender if they're on the floor at the same time for stretches.

For years of screaming for height, we finally have some.

I'm sure he has seen him play in international tournaments and isn't just making it up.

Even Zags misspelled Mullin. I wish I understood what the difficulty is.

This is not related, but it annoys me that on the Zagsblog website the lefthand banner includes Uconn, Cuse and Rutgers. No St. John's.

AND he can't spell Mullin correctly.

I noticed that as well. And for as much ink as we get on that site it just doesn't make sense

Greetings Eddy jean and Johnny Fan and Capmaker

unless one's surname is Jones or Smith etc. most of us have to deal - over the course of our lives - with repeated spelling and pronunciation statements to others - agree? Although I do not like to see Chris' name misspelled, it doesn't surprise me (did I misspell 'misspelled' might have...)
:)

I absoluately agree on the lack of the SJU banner...what is Zags thinking???
all the best this morning

If you look at some of these threads, some of our posters can't spell Mullin correctly either.

@Yankusima: #RedStorm all day...

Redmen all day, every day baby. We're going big boy for now on.
Mullin, Slice, Matt, Pinckney? Show us the way.

Absolutely oldschool Redmen

and if you do not mind, I'd like to add what we all know:
"We're going big boy for now on...like we used to be!!!"

We are going back to our high water mark and as one poster (forget whom sorry) observed, Chris Mullin may take us to heights where not even Louie and Joe took us before - of course Chris standing on their shoulders!!!

There must be a star wars, star trek, lost in space (for those of us old enough - does not compute) Disney movie song/saying about rarified air, the galaxy and beyond...to the Final Four and beyond, Yes!

all the best
