@Villanova, Sat. Feb. 13, 8pm, CBS SN & 570AM

this game has disaster written on it so bad the 114 crew won't even be driving down for the cheesesteaks

So I live in philly now and have for the last 17 years. I'm not sure if I have missed any SJU at Nova games since I lived here, but I will be missing this one. A Saturday night game at the Wells Fargo center has the potential to be a blast, just not this year for us.

hopefully, with everyone of these beat downs, the coaches and returning players are learning and can't step it up with the reinforcements that are on their way next year.

FWIW, after we take our beating, all 17k nova fans will be headed back to their cars in 10* temps and will be sitting for at least a half hour trying to get out of there.

I usually go to this game with the entire family. Last year was a horrible beatdown. Long term a game to look forward to again. It's one that makes the big East great, with the potential for road trips to Gtown, Providence, Nova, even SHU.

Maybe to avoid the next year reprisals some posters keep talking about Jay Wright will have them take it easy on us. You know don't want to face the wraith next year.

To be honest, Jay Wright goes back a long way with Chris Mullin to the 85 season where Jay was a graduate assistant at Nova, and even before that. Before the game at the Garden, Mullin and Wright, obviously good friends had a very warm couple of minutes with Mullin calling Jay back to point to a friend in the stands behind they SJU bench that they both knew. I don't know if Wright would take it easy on SJU (and to an extent out of respect he shouldn't) but I also believe he will not run it up on us.

Now that I said that, watch us lose by 50. :)

The friend in the stands was Coach Carnesecca.

Really? Looie usually sits near midcourt. This person was sitting behind the SJU bench.

I had a dream that I missed the game but DVR'd it. I woke up Sunday morning to discover that SJU had knocked off the top ranked Wildcats 72-63. I ran to my TV to watch but the DVR was out of space.

I then went back to sleep and discovered the game was in 2018

This probably won't happen (because Nova is #1), but I could envision a scenario where Vegas says that these teams are just too mismatched, and they don't assign a line to the game, like what sometimes happens against an early season non-conference softy.

Beast - I think I saw him behind the bench at the Nova game as well.

At the Garden, he's usually behind the St. John's bench. (At least, that's where I've always seen him, including numerous times when my friend, who knows the family, went to down to say hi to him.)

Cool. I guess he changed his perennial seats from near midcourt. Thank you. I did notice he hasn't been in those seats but had not seen him. Now I have changed my seats from the right side of the SJU bench in 109 to 107 near midcourt, so it could have just been the angle.
