Uhmm... yes they are going to help CMA change this program and thank god he had the foresight to hire them and that they wanted to work with him. CMA has always fostered great relationships with his assistants and he has always been extremely loyal to them, sometimes to his own detriment at Arkansas and I am sure that's what helped him with the Macon hire at the outset. While he got a promotion and raise last year...give him another one. He is worth it. Van and Shoes are going to change this program.
Brian Mahoney to name anotherI don't want this to sound selfish. Van has done an amazing job. Lots of people are very very good #2's and not cut out to be #1. Need I remind anyone of Norm Roberts. Some have made great careers out of just being the right hand to the HC. Hope Van chooses this career path. Selfishly I guess.
Since most coaching candidates are sort after for their post season success, I would think that it’s a bit premature for Anderson’s assistants to be highly sort after for head coaching positions in major D1 programs at this point in time. Let’s get a few Dance invites and wins before we start to worry.Van should be on the shortlist of any metro mid-major with an HC opening. You'd be crazy not to consider him.
Glenn Braica and Chris Casey were scooped up by St. Francis and Niagara after their glorious run with Norm.Since most coaching candidates are sort after for their post season success, I would think that it’s a bit premature for Anderson’s assistants to be highly sort after for head coaching positions in major D1 programs at this point in time. Either you misread the post that you replied to or you intentionally took a swipe at Anderson when you saw an opportunity because no one said anything about Macon getting swooped up by a major D1 program. Because career assistants usually start there when it comes to getting their own program. Why would Neptune take the Fordham job or Holloway take the St Peter’s job?Key words....major D1 program. Why would Van take a mid major job?

Honest question, how successful would sju have to be with Macon as an assistant, for him to warrant a first time head coaching job that wasn’t at the mid/low local level?Good point except that Van has been around allot longer then both of those guys and I would think that his goals may be higher cause of that.

He’ll have to work his way up just like those guys.
I am enjoying it immensely! Can't wait for the next "Shoe" to drop.Enjoying Van and Shoes killing it on recruiting trail in an organized, systematic approach, seems more fun than worrying about Van’s next stop. Smell the roses!
He has been, there's been a lot of teams over the last few years who have tried to "poach" him. So far thankfully, he's still ours and thriving.Van should be on the shortlist of any metro mid-major with an HC opening. You'd be crazy not to consider him.
