Upset?

This is as big a loss to the Michigan athletic programs as the 2007 Appalachian State victory vs. Michigan football

SJU RPI just a got a boost

NJIT 72
Mich 70

SJU beat NJIT
NJIT beat Michigan
Michigan beat Syracuse

So

SJU will beat Syracuse.

Lol. Just kidding. But seriously what an upset

didn't think Michigan was that good this year, very young and relying on the name, however this is shocking

How soon before Jim Engels gets a bigger job. He's done a great job with a team that recently moved on to D1 and suffered a long losing streak before getting their first win. I've been impressed with their style of play over the times we've faced them. They usually succumb to more talented teams but they did a great job today to hold on to the lead in the closing minutes.

Glad this one happened to Michigan and not St. John's. Albany beat NJIT easily, so I think this was a fluke.

FIRE BEILEIN !!!!! How can he possibly coach anymore after losing at home to an NJIT team that even St Johns beat by 19 points.
I'm being sarcastic but can you imagine what this board would have been like if we had lost to NJIT. We complain about not winning by enough. Most on here were terrified by Minnesota since they beat Franklin Pierce by 40 and we didn't, smh.
Somehow posters on this site think that it is easy to win basketball games, it isn't. Think about your own professions, do you win every case, do you save every patient, do all of your students get A's. If you are a student, do you get A's in all of your classes even though you are given a textbook and all you have to do is study and prepare. NO !!! But we work behind closed doors so our failures or shortcomings are not out there for everyone to see.
While I have been disappointed that wee haven't made the NCAA tourney, I try to express my feelings in a civilized manner since I have absolutely no idea what it is like to coach college basketball at the High Major level.
One more thing for all of those who are constantly criticizing Lavin and staff for the decisions they make and always have the answer to what the coaches should be doing and who should be playing, " QUIT YOUR DAY JOB " and apply for a college coaching position !!!!!

Another thing to take into account, NCAA basketball is not like it was 20 or 30, or even 10 years ago for that matter. The competition is a lot more even now than it has ever been. Sure there is still going to be a large divide with the elite teams, but the term "cupcakes" isn't even close to what it used to be. You can't expect to beat mid majors by 50 these days.

Was wondering how long before someone used this to try and make some dumb point about criticism of Lavin.
Beilein has been a consistently very good coach and Michigan fans have legitimate confidence that he will lead that program to success with regularity in the future. Because he is a good coach and has shown consistent success throughout his career. Lavin has neither going for him. Michigan will likely make the tourney this season. Lavin failed to do so last season with talent superior to what Michigan has this year and in a weaker conference.

Oh and no need for anyone here to "quit his day job and become a coach" to legitimize the criticism of Lavin. Lavin sucks at his job. One need not do the job himself for a living to judge that fact.

Didn't take you any time to respond.

MAlso, Beilein doesn't put his vacation expenses on his recruiting budget. (Insert eye-rollie emoticon here---to indicate sarcasm.)

So far today NJIT has beaten Michigan, Green Bay has beat Miami. Hopefully we can add to that and take down Syracuse on the road! Gonzaga isa also taking on Arizona today. If they win our loss looks like an ever better loss than it already is. Let's go johnnies!

So

SJU will beat Syracuse.

Just kidding? Didn't you ever hear of Tim McGraw's, " You gotta believe."
