Ugly Racist Incident In NCAA Game Yesterday

"America's not ready for a white first lady"...............lose his union card, be banned from movie productions, sensitivity training,  picketing of his movies, a McCarthy like blacklisting, and non of us should speak to him again? Loosen up.The kids in the band tried an over the top attempt at humor........it failed. Someone should tell them not to try stupidity again or there will be sanctions. End of story.

As the author of this post I'd like join Oldfan's request that we put this thread to rest. Before we do I'd like to clarify two things:

1, the reason I used the title "ugly racist incident" was because that was the title of the link which I posted to the story

2, that being said, I stand by that title. The chant was not b/c of the players sneakers, his haircut or his free throw shooting ability, the chant was used b/c of the player's ethnicity. Anyone who says it did not have racist tones is an idiot and I don't care what anyone says. If you don't think it was racist try being in the K-State player's shoes that day and see how it feels. As far as punishment and what should happen, that was for discussion and I think we've done that. We can agree or disagree on that. That's it for me. Anyone who wants to keep this going, feel free.

As for the player, there is probably not a poster on this board that hasn't suffered at least this much racism in athletics. If you can't handle that, you shouldn't be playing sports. This really shouldn't even be a headline. The sissification of America....

As for the students, it makes them and their school look so foolish...that is punishment enough.

Well put, agree 100%

I'm generally in agreement with your response, but in these hyper-sensitive times I'm simply stating that highlighting the thread name as "racist incident" is inflamatory and absolutely in error.

Got you; I misunderstood your original post.
