U.S. Soccer

How was McGlynn not playing until the end. No Robinson, no Aaronson. I hate to say it but Poch might be worse than Berhalter was. And I’m a Spurs fan, I love the guy.

Freese saved the day. This is not a great Costa Rica team by any stretch. It’s unbelievable to me how many of our players opted out.

Seems like the team would benefit greatly by playing together leading up to the World Cup. New Coach and all. Not sure why US players and USMNT wouldn’t take advantage of the opportunity. As it’s soccer I only know what I read.

Mexico dominated.

Maybe many top u.s. players opted out, guess there's no American pride in soccer then.

In that case we'll never ever be elite in soccer, oh well.

Many those top soccer players should be told, no world cup games then. Screw them right back.

In the end I feel confident that the team that the U.S puts together for the World Cup will be similar in talent to the 2022 squad.

The unfortunate part is that team actually played pretty well for their talent level. They drew a good England team and beat Iran when they needed to qualify. Even the Netherlands game wasn’t as bad as the score imo. Matching those results seem to be the ceiling.

So Mexico’s A team is better than the USA’s B/C team. Well then a hearty congratulations goes out to the most abhorrent, loathsome, and repugnant national team and fans in the world.

If the situation was reversed and the penalty for handball was not called in favor of Mexico, there would have been bottles and other unimaginable things thrown on the field. I am only using the high recidivist rate of their actions as a baseline for my comments.

While it was disappointing that some of the European-based available first team players did not participate, Luna, Tillman, Richards, and Freeman all earned themselves consideration in the A pool.

Not to mention Freese is apparently in competition with Turner for the starting spot. While that may or may not happen, Freese is worth keeping just for his penalty kick goalkeeping brilliance.
