Two lasting images of Duke game

i have two lasting images from todays game and neither happened while the ball was in play . The first happened last and was Moe's reaction to losing after the horn . He slammed the ball down in anger at losing to Duke . This is the type of competitor we need , he's only a freshman and he doesnt want to lose to the # 6 team in the nation .He is emblamatic of the team that Lavin has put together .

The second image happened in the first half when we were trying to in bound on the sideline . the ref handed the ball to D Harrison and as he was looking to inbound , the Duke fans were reaching out from the stands very close to him and they were screaming . One of the fans was screaming ' you f--------g suck " . this was right in front of the ref. doesnt the ACC have the same rules about fan conduct that the Big East has and it is announced at every SJU game . It was impressive how Harrison was able to stay composed in front of a large group of class;less people .

one never knows do one BUT

hope the best of our lineup stays at school - I hope Moe's parents say get your education now while you're young; but one never knows.

also we would benefit by Green or Garrett or Pointer or God getting up to the 10 points per game every game to take some of the heat off our big two

all the best

Yes and no technicals(I believe) and no one fouled out sans Pointer

They are both exceptional frosh, in the tradition of George Johnson, Chris Mullin and Malik Sealy. Harkless may be the best ever by the end of the season.

On twitter, duke fans are saying that Dom gave the finger to the crowd after the game. Did anyone see or hear anything on this?

Back to lasting images of the game... in the 2nd half, Harrison hitting three 3's right in the face of ther Duke defense.

I'm sure he will be disciplined if he did . He was very upset at the officiating and I'm sure the DOOKIES got on his case . Freshman mistake , he'll learn from it .

By far, his most passionate performance

Good for him.

Are you seriously supporting that action by Pointer, if true? If so, shame on you....

Cmon. That crowd is rude. You could read the Asian kid's lips while in Amir's ear inbounding yelling "you effing suck, yu effing suck". Big deal..

I think the refs took us out of the game in the first half calling touch fouls against st johns. I had to run to the store during the game and listened on the radio for a part of the second half. The st johns announcer was commenting on how st johns was being called for the slightest touch and that it seemed to be a foul on one end of the court but not the other.

I have nothing but RESPECT for our team. Last weeks takedown of West Virginia, who took Syracuse to the wire today and was robbed of no call on a goaltend that would have sent it into overtime. And today the courage in the face of a difficult situation. I don't think Duke is looking forward to playing us on a neutral court or at the Garden!

LOL, the crowd is rude, are you being serious? They are creative and passionate about their team. St. John's wish they had 50% of that crowds passion.

The thought that you and Tom don't see anything wrong with Pointer flipping off the crowd amazings me. That to me is rude and does not represent the University well.

Duke always has home cookin from the refs AND the announcers. Although Dickie V always has some nice stuff to say, especially with Lavin here, as I see him being a traditionalist. I agree about the fans. I think the Cameron Crazies get a pass because of their image.

With all that said, these kids just don't stop battling in the face of adversity. You gotta love it! Win or lose these guys give it their all. They don't have the size to compete with the top 10 and they don't have a true point guard...two things that will be addressed next year...but they try to beat everyone with their speed and athleticism. See how many times they got their hands in there on defense today? Hustle. This team has the makings of something great. Phil Greene is so versatile and seems to pop up everywhere on the court, Moe is a HUGE matchup problem who can just grind out points, D'Angelo can and will shoot the lights out of people from all over the court, and Pointer and Garrett are glue guys that can D up and will get better on the offensive end soon enough. Add Branch, Gathers and Sampson (hopefully) and this will turn into a fantastic 8 man rotation. Despite the loss, I think they played really well today coming back from 20 or so down and came within a few whiffs of winning. Another made 3 and a few more made free throws and this is an epic finish! That second half was reason enough to keep their heads held high. Man I love these guys!!!

Guys, the Duke fans are yelling all types of obscenities at our players during the game, and then we're going to take their word for the fact that one of our players flipped them off? Do you see the obsurdity of this situation? I doubt Dom did that and don't condone it if he did, but let's get real. The Duke fans are an embarrassment for the way they behave...let's not cut them any slack just because they show up with their free tickets.

Is there an NCAA code of conduct? Does the Big East enforce its code of conduct? Don't you think someone should encourage the NCAA to deal with what goes on at Cameron . Tom in Salem , we saw the same kid screaming !!!!

Now the NCAA should look into what goes on at Cameron? I guess they should look into the old man waving the towel getting the crowd going. All of this talk about their fans means just one thing "jealously."

I'm not jealous of those obnoxious a&h@les, so speak for yourself.
