TV info for Barcalys Classic

hey guys....i am in NY for the holiday weekend and i'm going to barclays on friday night for the penn state game....i have never been there before and was wondering if there are any good bars/restaurants right around the arena or if there are places inside worth checking out.....nothing fancy, just a place to grab a beer and a bite before the game.....thanks in advance....

Tons of places. Can't say I've been to any but saw plenty while walking to the arena last year when I went. You have a mix of national chain like places to neighborhood bars.

Any idea how far the train-- LIRR, is from the arena?

Not sure honestly because I'm not familiar with LIRR, but thought it was attached to it?

I know every subway under the sun is attached to it. Thought they built it so LIRR was also. One of our LIRR fans can confirm.
 
LIRR is underneath the arena with the subways, it's all one big transit hub. And you can access it from right outside the stadium.

If you're not looking to impress a date, and just want food and beer, there's a Buffalo Wild Wings right across the street from the stadium. (opposite from Modells)

I don't have a huge sample size of places since I've only been to the Barclay's once but before the St. John's/St. Francis game last year I went to Alchemy. It was pretty decent. Good craft beer selection. And three blocks from the arena. Also stopped in to Cyprus Avenue which is three doors down from it. Food was pretty good there (specifically the sliders).

My Cablevision Guide is showing the game being broadcast on NBCSH, my channel 146. I hope this is correct. I'm not paying $9.95 to watch the game.

I looked up NBCSN on FIOS and shows broadcasting the first game between GTech and Miss @ 5pm. The 7pm slot is the Battle for Atlantis.
