Trimble

Trimble can't guard anyone with quick feet. Marcellus has a better shot as a football player.[/quote]

Shirley, you jest!

His best game in a Johnnies uniform tonight, IMO.

I know he had 19 at Marquette last year, but a lot of that was late, after the issue had been decided. His performance tonight, was just what the doctor ordered. Grabbed some nice rebounds, too.

Maybe tonight can kill once and for all the Trimble to transfer rumors. If there was ever a super solid 4 year role player in the Mullin era, this kid is it. Case closed.

Trimble gets a reprieve. And “Case closed” - until, that is, he misses his next three lol
such fickle posters, some.

Legs must tire jumping on and off the ship. Whew.
Thanks NC!

Good for him - nice to see kid have his moment. I expect, he will start to hit his shot more regularly going forward. Most importantly, team looked to be very together last night. Have to believe quotes after Georgetown game were out of frustration and nothing more deep seated than that.

Just a soph so hopefully he sticks around for four years. One game, but confidence is often a game changer.

OMAHA, Neb. — Bryan Trimble Jr. couldn’t have scripted it any better, playing his best game of the season just a three-hour drive from his hometown of Kansas City.

With starting guard Justin Simon sidelined with a migraine for all but seven minutes, the sophomore was called upon for a season-high 33 minutes, and he delivered 11 big points in the Johnnies’ skid-snapping 83-67 win at Creighton.

“I’m so happy for him,” St. John’s coach Chris Mullin said. “I’ve been wanting him to get more minutes. I’ve been wanting him to drive the ball more and show off his new fitness that he’s found. Tonight he got his opportunity and he came through.”

Trimble had entered the game coming off three straight scoreless appearances. He played just six minutes in Sunday’s loss at Georgetown. Frequently, he has been the subject of criticism on social media from Red Storm fans.

“I came too far in my life to worry about what everybody is posting on Twitter,” he said. “I look at that, I laugh. I know what I’m capable of, my coach knows what I’m capable of.

“I make shots, you feel me?”

He certainly did on Wednesday. Trimble also played well defensively, helping limit Creighton to 9-of-34 from 3-point range, and grabbed four rebounds along with two assists. He also may have showed the coaching staff it can utilize the bench more, too.

“It’s definitely a confidence-booster,” he said.

After the loss to Georgetown, Trimble posted emojis of an airplane and house. Some fans took that as he was leaving the team to go home.

“I was flying here to play in front of my family,” he said with a smile.

It was a trip he will cherish

Very clear listening to coach in press conference that he appreciates what Trimble brings to team (defense & high IQ) and wants him to take the ball to the hoop once in a while. With confidence/playing time that beautiful three point shot will fall more regularly. Already up to 35% after 1 good game. He will be a solid 4 year guy for us. Valuable part of SJU family.

The 33 minutes that Trimble got last night vs Creighton is probably his career most . And , we saw with that amount of Court Time , he was a significant contributor . It’s tough to come off the Bench and get 6-8 minutes a game and put up numbers . This Board hasn’t been kind to Bryan and that’s a shame . He plays tough D on Players 5-6 inches taller and bigger and can hit shots if he’s given a chance to shoot more than 1 or 2 . Last night was a great Game for him . And , the Ball seemed to move around the Court a lot faster and with better results than in previous games . Some of that was Ponds having the ball in his hands most of the time and taking over the Game , which is what our team needs to win . Heron and Figgy played a lot better too. They touched the Ball in the right spots for a change . But, make no mistake , Trimble was a big factor in making that happen . He does move the Ball quickly and puts himself in position when he has a shot to take . I don’t view his season long stats as being enough of measure of his scoring ability . He can shoot and last night showed it . Let’s face it , getting his 11.ponts off the Bench and giving the defense something to think about when he squares up , is a big deal .

Sounds like he's talking to some of the trolls on this board:

Good for him. He answered many questions about his 3-point shooting and endurance. He can be a valuable asset the rest of his SJU career.

Per SJU Grad Assistant Chris Huey

@btrim12 works as hard as anyone on this team. Countless late nights in the gym. Been through it all and doesn’t let it phase him. Keep sleeping on him, keep doubting him. He’s gonna keep working no matter what! KC ➡️NYC #SJUBB
