Trimble

Gotta say if Heron is eligible and Dixon and Figueroa come close to expectations Trimble looks to be seeing vastly reduce minutes this year, and he'll likely be fighting for those with Williams.
So basically what you’re saying is that if the cards fall in to place(in the backcourt) just perfectly(when was the last time that happened around here?), and/or if Trimble did not get in to better shape over the summer, then he will see reduced minutes. If I were a betting man, I’d put my money on Trimble being a solid contributor this coming year.
I like my role players as upperclassmen, ergo my opinion. I also can see Trimble making a meaningful contribution as a jr and sr. Additionally, I prefer to see 8 very good players sharing minutes than 10 ok players doing the same. Looks like there's a chance for the former if, as you say, the cards fall in to place. I understand entirely why we shouldn't expect that but hope springs eternal.
This team will have the deepest backcourt in recent memory. I see Trimble as a 3 point specialist when in the game. With Ponds, Dixon, Simon, Williams and Trimble our 1 and 2 spots are set. The only ? Mark is will Keita be enough up front against competition with true talented centers.
First of all I can't understand why an athlete lets himself get out of shape, especially one with a basketball scholarship and expects to play more then a few minutes a game. Still, I thought Trimble made some changes to his outside game and showed some moves on drives to the basket plus pull up jumpers. I'm rooting for this kid.
You know I once made a stupid comment to my daughter saying, "Why are there so many poor people who are fat?" It was a stupid, throw away, not so funny joke. Her response stuck with me from then till now. "When you are poor, you can buy really bad junk food loaded with calories for very little money", and that kind of garbage of empty calories loaded with hydrogenated fats piles on the pounds.

I'm not saying that's the case with Trimble, but a bad diet, and some people just have a propensity to add unwanted pounds. I wouldn't put any blame on the kid, and hope he is making good progress.

Update: Appears to be in the same shape as last year. Will have trouble keeping up with quicker guards, and will likely see playing time diminished unless he proves to be a big asset on the court. Unfortunate IMO, but who knows. John Bagley carried extra weight and made it to the NBA.

Seeing is believing. Still lots of time before the season starts.

In positionless baskeball he is our combo 3 pt shooter and Backup center! Keita, Clark, Earlington, Heron and Trimble are our 5 biggest guys. I hope we see Trimble for 4 years. He showed a nice stroke early and some poise. I think he may have hit a wall a little physically but I'd like to see him as a Junior/Sr.
Roberts is a big also

Roberts is a big also
I was referring to size more the height and a comment generally reflecting the ongoing theme of our lack of muscle and skills inside. Actually our lack of pretty much anything inside other than shot blocking on defense. I haven't seen Roberts play and I hope he ultimately gives us more presence inside than Tariq Owens and is not another wannabe stretch 4 who only sees the "stretch" part of that equation.

And Omari Lawrence carried extra weight and made it to KSU. Unfortunately, we'd already know by now if Trimble was closer to being Bagley.

Williams will be ahead of him on the depth chart by the first game if he's not in shape. Then again, Trimble might have a better chance of seeing the floor as a PF or center anyway.

Khalid El-Amin, too.

He's no John Bagley, but he's no Omari Lawrence either.

If true very disappointing as we had been told earlier he had lost 12 pounds and was working hard at getting into an improved shape. I for one was counting on Trimble to be a good reserve this season. If correct he should not be disappointed when Williams grabs his minutes.

Williams will get his minutes regardless but it begs the question "who is working with him" to get him into top playing shape?

Where is Jack LaLanne when you need him?

The Burger King? Papa John? Colonel Sanders?
Looks leaner to me. As I said I hope he is a 4 year player.
If he comes ready to play and is able to hold off Williams, he'll get his minutes this season. Might even be in the front court in some wacky lineups.

But if not, hopefully he has patience, because it might not be until his senior year that he gets enough minutes to make him happy. Honestly, a redshirt year between junior and senior year might even be better for his prospects, but most kids wouldn't want that.

If not ,he could be a wild card. Looked good in the video. It I was nice to see him mix his outside shots up w inside shots. I would have liked to see that in Clark’s video.Hoping for a nice jump from fr to so year.

He will never be skinny he looks like a naturally thick guy, he just needs to tone up which it looks like he's doing. Good for him, he needs to commit to playing a role for us this year. He has the build to be a plus defender and thats where he could really carve out a nice role for himself this year. He can be the 3 and D guy for us this year if he can defend and catch & shoot. I dont think GW's strength is outside shooting so I think Trimble will be ahead of him for that reason especially with Heron. If Heron is eligible GW is the one I would recommend for a redshirt so he can be ready for a big role after we lose a bunch of our backcourt in 19-20. He has a higher ceiling than Trimble but with MH and Simon he is not as good a fit for this year.
