Any chance, Coach pivots, sees VJ as a lost cause and turns his attention to Evans?
I was expecting to see us for worst away locker room.
Just having Pitino in the home locker room makes the visiting locker nicer looking.
I wasn’t but you never know.
It’s so disappointing to again see DePaul not able to be competitive in the BE and judging from this loss to Purdue - Ft Wayne not competitive overall .
Like we did getting RP , DePaul needs a total reset . Getting a big name former Coach and opening up the NIL wallet have to be a priority .
They have been BE doormats or close to it , ever since they joined the BE . They haven’t been able to tap into many of the top 100 players in years and they didn’t pick up coveted Portal players this year either .
Of course , another option would be for them to withdraw from the BE and drop down to a lower D1 league . I think they could negotiate a release without any financial penalty under the circumstances .

I know friends who are DeP fans and they envy us and have for years even in our worst eras, we've been better than them.
It's kinda sad since CHI like NYC is or was a hotbed of basketball from the public leagues to the Catholic and private schools to AAU.
While we had legends like Lapchick and Looie they had Ray Meyer and some great teams and great players going way back. After Joey Meyer they have really stunk the place up, even though they got a nice new inner city facility built, it is mostly empty.
Recycyling Dave Leitao drove my DeP buddies crazy and they think the school operates with a small-mindedness in their Coach and AD hires and have for decades.
There are no Mark Aquirres or Dallas Comegys walking through the door anytime soon.
I, like you, hope they turn it around by bringing in a prominent AD and opening up their wallet for a huge name coach. A fellow Vincentian school which otherwise fits the new BE profile perfectly would be nice to have.
I hated DePaul during that time. A pox on them and all their ancestors.

I think DePaul was undefeated at home that year too, which made the second half comeback even more impressive.

Quick story …SJU was up by like 6 pts with the ball with 90 seconds to go. The administrator for the next round regional game came and sat next to me. I was in my usual first seat on the bench and he came to the scorers table seat next to me. He starts talking about how many tickets were in the briefcase he was giving to me for the next round and our travel plans and within a flash, we blew the lead and he was gone to the DePaul bench. Darn Comegy’s and DePaul homer refs. 
And it was a beautiful briefcase that they gave to each of the winning teams that year!
