The Slice Hypocrisy

A lot of people on this board ought to be ashamed of yourselves right now. For years a huge number of you questioned his ethics. When barry rohrssen was at Pitt you hinted he was playing games. Once he got to Manhattan you claimed he was under-cutting especially in the recruitment of Rhemal Brown. And once he got to Kentucky you haven't stopped.
Now that we might be his next stop all of that has stopped and its "we need slice" "we need slice"

You can't have it both ways. Slice comes, great, but we all better be ready when he's caught up in the wake of the emplousion once they catch up with Calipari again.

the business of big time college basketball can be very nasty indeed.
Better put on your big boy shorts if you want to go big time.

I don't recall many if any negative post about Rohrssen and his "ethics" on this Board. While people were not happy we were losing New Yorkers to Pitt, that had more to do with their program and our coaches. Nor do I recall any such talk involving him and Kentucky. So who are these huge number of posters and their posts that I must have missed?

we can hire the unibomber as a coach and if he could recruit I'd probably forgive him

There are many - mostly from his first run at Pitt - I will post as i've fully archived Redmen.com since the 90's :)

This will be like the discovery of king tuts tomb or something.

"Redmen.com the lost years". Maybe we can have Geraldo Rivera host a webisode for the unveiling

I've only visited this website for the past few years but there were definitely posts saying this in the Briscoe thread.

Briscoe would have committed to Lavin if Calipari and Slice hadn't helicoptered in late after he blew up over the summer. The Kentucky brand was just too much for Lavin to overcome.

Most everybody one here hated Patrick Ewing while he wore a Hoya uniform. My guess is most of us were thrilled when the Knicks got the number one pick, knowing Patrick was headed here. A message board is for sharing news and predictions and ranting and raving. So some ranted about Slice. Doesn't matter. We could use his recruiting skills here.

People talk crap about Pecora too, but we'll welcome him with open arms two weeks from now.

Why can't we have it both ways? That's just how it is in sports.. You dislike the enemy and talk crap about them, until they join your team. I think Clemens is a prime example for a Yankees fan... So you cheer, root, and be a non hypocrite the way you want, and I'll do it the way i want...all i want is what's best for my team, and at this point i believe Slice fits the bill... . He is/was only with Kentucky for a year, so if ever there is an implosion, Slice won't be a big part of that.

38 posts and you've archived Redmen.com since its inception?

Hillary Clinton would just love you.

Sarah Palin wouldn't understand what this thread is about, and Michele Bachman would claim that the Founding Fathers agree with her opinion.

But Mario Cuomo was a big fan of SJU basketball up until the end, and a long time SJU law professor would watch games with him on TV.

The main point, though example was in jest, was how a poster with a handful of posts, claims to have redmen.com archived since the 90s.

I miss the good ole days when all we did was rip on Slice regarding Rhamel Brown's recruitment.

He does wear nice suits. I've read a lot of posts about clothes so there's no hypocrisy on that front

Jack Williams must be terrified that Dusty is about to release posts from 1999 when Jack was posting from his crib when he was 1 years old

You of course are unaware that Jack was Fedexing dirty diapers to Jarvis as a protest for the Fraschilla firing. He's always been a bright kid.

Some of our active posters were sending dirty Depends to Lavin this year.
