The power of Redmen.com

To show you maybe not the power of redmen.com but the reach of redmen.com I'll share a quick story that I told a couple of posters privately

I was down in the boonies of maryland where my grandma lives on a farm. Real small town with only 1 traffic light. I had to go to the nearest drug store to get wrapping paper because he town is so small she doesnt even have a confectionary type store. The drug store has 1 employee and that's the pharmacist. I'm wearing sju stuff and the guy starts talking sju stuff. He knew everything. I asked him how he keeps up with all the news and he says he reads a st johns website. I ask him which one and he says redmen.com. I started cracking up.

I ask him who is favorite posters were and he the first name that came out of his mouth was Paultz&JSJ and couple others and then he says mjmaherjr. I'm dying now without telling him who I am. I tell him I'm friends with Paultz&JSJ and he was star struck that I knew them. He asked me how I knew them and I pull out my drivers license and give it to him. He looks at it and just stares and was stunned. He said " I've been laughing at your jokes for 15 years. Turns out he went to SJU I guess about 40 yrs ago

Small Small World

Why isn't anyone realizing the real story here is that someone is laughing at Mjmaher's jokes? :) Great post man!!

I think it's my fault. I check in to Redmen.com about 50 times a day so I can get insights that will make me look smarter to my friends who follow SJ hoops but for whatever reason, never read Redmen.com
Let's see: 50 X 7 = 350 X 365 that accounts for most of your traffic!

I stay logged in all day but I also check the site about every hour to see if there is any new news on the team. It's all I've got until October.

my girlfriend of 6 years gives me so much crap for being on here all the time esp. during the season. When we go to games I typically end up with my hand covering her mouth when the people in front or next to us are browsing on their phones at redmen.com bc she tries to reveal my identity.

Sports writers/ columnists read Redmen.com as evidenced by the fact that promptly after news breaks on Redmen.com one or more sports writers follow with that information in a tweet or story over the internet.

Did you ever think that the posters who post things are getting the same info from the same person who is telling the beat writers?

Agree. Not to mention that there are circular rumors that become falsely validated by a beat writer picking them up on redmen.com. Of course they are going to follow a site devoted to a team they cover to get a pulse on what fans feel and legitimate whispers of things about to occur. But lots of times they report on stuff posted here that is just rumor, and then posters here read it in that publication and take it as validated fact.

I suspect a guest is counted every time they load a page on the site. So If someone who is not logged in reads 10 pages of a thread, it counts as 10 guests.

Factor in multiple personalities who frequent site. :)

Yes Paultzman
I think of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr Jeckyl (spelling?) and Mr Hyde
Seems most posters are Dr Jeckyl and Dr Jeckyl...whereas a few - Mr. Hyde and and Hyde
Let's put it this way, if I may speculate, Chris Mullin and Mr Hyde do not resonate at all

I'm reading this right now instead of watching Japanese porn. That, my friends, is power.

Dear LJSA
When you write " power" that captured the new Chris Mullin & company, for sure
And brings back college years choosing my first car: POWER
8 cylinders all
442 barracuda LeMans Cutless Charger Datsun Z cars, thunderbird bonnieville Corvette...power as in SJU BBall

We are headed into an 8 cylinder starting five
Imagine the turbo sounds of Alumni Hall?
Visitors beware
Wow!
