The Posts that exited the Portal thread

The times I have seen him he was careless with the ball.
Ok. Everyone please hold up a moment. Do you remember the constant vitriol about Kadary early on. Sloppy, careless and not a point guard. Including me.
Come on. Honesty check please.
Well, I proudly have a Kadary jersey now.

I see Ian as (under CRPs watchful tutelage) a Kadary with a shot.
If Coach can close out Ian, then it’s good enough for me. CRP has the eye.
And: I understand the hesitation, I just think with time he will be a fan favorite.
If CRP says we have point guard X (pun intended) and 2 guard Ian, then I’m off base. It won’t be the first time, btw.

Zuby is going to be a killer next year Hopkins is definitely going to be a killer too. Sanon who I saw a highlight reel and he didn’t miss a shot is stone cold Ted Bundy. Ian I actually watched a couple games his D didn’t bother me because the team sucked but he can be an assassin imo. PG no comment yet obviously but I trust in Rick and Matt to deliver

I understand your point, I just think Sanon is starter from day 1 no matter who they bring in.

I wouldn't assume that at all. Sanon is a big time talent, but there are holes in his game. Sellers is no joke...incredibly efficient movement, athletic at the rim, fast as hell in transition, and just as much of a shooter as Sanon.

Whoever steps up on defense will start out the names being bandied about.

The narrative that X is using anybody hostage or as leverage is insulting. If that were the case we would not have turned down at least 2 schools that would have outbid everyone and at the very least driven up his price. He is the best pg in the portal and will be compensated commiserate with that but I’ve said all along its not all about the money and it’s not.
SJ visit was terrific and he’s very aware of all it has to offer. We will now hear/see Fla and a decision will be made shortly
My take….

Pitino > Golden
MSG Atmosphere > Gainesville
$$$ ???

It’ll come down to what the kid wants and how he perceives the sum of the parts

1) Not sure how the best remaining pg in a market desperate for them wouldn't have leverage...so why assume we don't have it?
2) Malpractice? How's that working for Nico? Im sure its hard for you to imagine but there are some kids, some families who finding the right situation and putting that young person in a situation to succeed on the court and in life is more important than every last dollar. Do you know this kid? His family? That we haven't already negotiated beyond any dollar amount they would have expected already?
In a world where everyone and every agent and rep seems to be chasing the highest $$ amount, I for one applaud his approach. If we’re going to lose the player to a better opportunity, even if I disagree with my SJU glasses on, then that’s one thing. I hate the last minute bag after the kid had seemingly made the decision for himself.

So in other words, his agent used leverage- which is a good thing, not a bad thing. I was merely responding to your earlier statement that it was "insulting" to assume that Lee's agent--or any other player's agent, for that matter--would use competing offers as leverage in negotiations. That's preposterous.

Great, kumbaya. Now let's move on.

I just finished catching up on 7 pages of this thread. To summarize:

-We still haven’t signed anyone
-Someone may or may not commit soon or at some point before summer practices begin
-Maher knows a lot about rub and tugs, but has never actually been to one himself

Did I miss anything?

I feel like last year was a bit of an up and down during April so it makes sense this year is the same. We have two starters back in Wilcher and Zuby. Two great additions in Sanon and Hopkins and a number of good reserves who have at least one year in Pitinos system.

I just have to wait on additional players. Time will tell.

D@mn your rational take and patience!
