If they play less MSG games, they should lower the prices of season tickets accordingly. They won't but they should. The only reason I have season tickets and don't buy on Stubhub is because I like being at center court for MSG. My Carnesecca seats are not nearly as good, don't have any interest in paying 750 bucks for 18 games where I'll break my back.
It's all economics they would likely respond. They have to average 10,000 or so to break even. So it looks like they have decided to take the losing propositions off the MSG schedule. Their argument would likely be that they are charging similar prices to other Big East schools.
There are chicken and egg things going on. If we filled the garden and CA for all games, we'd win more because of a true home court advantage, and recruit better players who see energized crowds and teams that win. Our fans largely stay home waiting for a winner, with the thinking that its no fun to watch a loser. There are just too many options in NYC area to support a mediocre team the way Creighton, Providence, or other colleges do. Somehow we have to stop this revolving door of coaches every 4-6 years, especially a revolving door that has been based on failure and not success.
