The better juco

Anyway, here's some things I've been wondering about, let me throw them out there for you all to chew over:

Which is better:

Ludwig Wittgenstein or Coco Puffs?

Rhubard Pie or Radial Tires?

The Big Bang Theory or Shingles?

Sarcasm or litotis?*

Discuss.

* this may be a trick question

1- Coco Puffs, their subatomic structure will prove to be the key to inter-galactic travel.

2- Radial Tires...they taste better.

3- Shingles..they are less painful.

4- toss up.

 *my nickname for Fun

It won't surprise you to learn that most of my nicknames start with those same first two letters.

Regarding Lindsey he reminds me very much of the two you mentioned - Hill and Hatten, more so Hatten, because he couldn't shoot either. Or going back, of Kevin Williams, would he have ever been unshackled. If Lindsey hasn't in fact played real basketball in two years, he might be something when the rust settles.

Yep it would have been great to see Williams play the whole game against Georgia, in the NCAA's up at the Dome.

Where are the archives when we need them

you don't need archives for some of our posters, they just type the same thing over and over again so it's always fresh.

If twice is over and over then your memory would be served by archives. I find it interesting that one mod covering for another is always fresh here on redmen though and that when convenient, memories fade.

For Moose, let me refresh your memory--it was after the Monroe game that you attended and when I made reference to GG as having quickness and how his coach at ECC compared him to a gazelle, you responded that he was neither quick nor a gazelle and basically gave him a negative evaluation. Not sure if it unclogs your memory but I am sure Lawmanfan will now count this as another repeat of a viewpoint that he finds irrelevant when looking at past comments evaluating GG prior to his signing.

I point this out only because this board was rather cool to GG last year vis-a-vis the early HS and prep recruits that got endless kudos here. The most redundant comments that Lawmanfan had no problems with last recruiting season were regarding Nurideen and whether, in fact, he would by-pass St. John's and enter the NBA draft! This from experts here that never saw him play one game. As the season progresses, I am sure that a regular redundant observation regarding Nurideen now will be about his outside shooting ability. I counted at least 14 comments thus far but will leave the "over and over" calculations to Lawman for here on out.

With Pelle seemingly struggling to pass prep courses before tackling college level courses, I would venture that GG has become our most important recruit for this year, whether some experts here like it or not.

I didn't realize me taking time to go and see a recruit would lead to me being villified. People who saw Moe last year saw a smaller Moe. People grow, people get in better shape, oh yeah and remember that people have off days. I saw Gift one game and one game only and knowing me I prefaced that in my post. I also made comments that the staff sees something they can work with and the other schools recruiting him was enough reason to go after him. That game was last November. 12 months ago. I see a different Gift. Pretty much totally different Gift. I posted defensively last year he was flawless and that is evident as well this year. He is smart defensively and people asked me comparing to Coker and I said light years better on that end.

Offensively last year he was taking jumpers which I think we know is NOT his game. In addition he was the best player on his team so therefore garnered most of the other teams defensive attention. On our team he knows his role and he sticks to it and to date has done a pretty damn good job. Did he drive past a defender from above the FT line like last night when I saw him? No. But again 1 game, 12 months ago, and I have a day job which is not a basketball talent evaluator. Guess I should stick to that, eh?

The fact I have to defend myself is pretty confusing in my mind. That being said I was thinking of going next week to New Haven to that Prep Showcase to see Amir (again), Darrick, and others but since my opinion is crapped on here why bother going.

I retract I will still go to New Haven mostly because I have no life and nothing better to do :woohoo:

72 I don't remember that specific thread exactly ( I remember Moose going to the game though ) but to the best of my knowledge other than what was said maybe on that one thread which I don't remember I've always thought Moose was Pro GG. And I have to give him a lot of credit for even trekking to a Juco game when half our own fans don't show up to watch our own early games

The only poster that I thought didn't like him was Marillac but maybe I'm wrong about that and it was just Nuri he wasn't a fan of.

Anyway I was probably one of the people who posted the most about worrying about Nuri going Pro early ( without seeing him play a game ) but I got that directly from Lavin who told me and Tommysea that last year in the context of him just saying that scouts were following him a lot and people were talking to Nuri and in his ear about going pro and he was just hoping he'd make it to campus.

BTW I can say 100% and swear to God that I was a Gods Gift fan from day 1 :)

Last night at the game a very disturbing thought passed my mind - what would this team look like right now without GG?

Hatten couldn't shoot? But Hill could?

As I remember it that's so, yes, despite your compelling use of cartoons to the contrary. Hatten was an awful outside shooter, Hill an adequate one. It's a shame about the player archives, we could know exactly. From memory I'd say 32 percent for the one and 36 for the other. Or in your terms

Hatten's 3-point percentage: :( :( :(

Hill's 3-pt percentage: :) :) :)
