Would have been a stud pre-portal era. There was just no path for him here. Even if he played well in 5 minutes a game, you can't trust him to be a starter the following year over a proven kid who started and excelled elsewhere.

I'm pretty numb to kids hitting the portal. Truth is I expect it.

Yesterday Miami FB Hurricanes "lost" a five star safety to the portal. Pre-portal era this would have been a big deal to the fanbase. Peoples feelings would be hurt, lol. Not anymore.

Truth is commitment, development, continuity, etc. are all ancient concepts to this new wave. Doesn't matter if it's the hardwood or the gridiron, it's all about the money...

For all of the knashing of teeth about the new landscape of college hoops, especially the perceived looting of lower level guys by the big boys, I think guys like Glover going to St Joes and Brady to St. Louis is an underrated factor and one you'll see more of. High school kids too. You're going to see more talent, especially younger guys, get pushed down a level as much as up. Be interesting to see how it balances out once the new system becomes just "the system".
