Told St Johns beat Temple in a closed scrimmage today, 97-86. LJ Figueroa and Mustapha Heron led them. #sjubb

Just a scrimmage, but beats losing to Rhody last year. :)

Don’t know if I should get excited about this score unless you tell me that Temple is a really good team if they are not think we should get concerned

Concerned about what exactly? You should not get excited or concerned, it was a scrimmage.

Temple is Temple. They always have a competitive team. Why would anyone be concerned with an 11 point win? Jeez!!!

Josh Roberts had a double-double and Greg Williams played, which is significant since he had back injury.

Always good to win no matter what the game is called.
FWIW, according to Dink, Temple beat G*Town last week 71-67.

Do we know if it was played like a real game, or whether it was one of those weird things where they play several mini scrimmages and take to cumulative scores?

Either way, I'm not disappointed. Like AlBovino said, it's Temple. Assuming Temple tried, and I assume they did, then we need to be happy with scoring 97. Need to tighten up the D, but that's what scrimmages are for -- finding weak spots and fine-tuning at the next practice.

Usually they play a legit 2 halves like a regulation game and then they may play another additional segment.

We are going to be fine without Steere as long as Dunn is eligible and Williams is healthy. Roberts has grown vertically, mentally and physically on the court. Of course we might be in troubke against ASU and WVU without Steere. But he'll be back a game before the Arizona game i believe. SJU is going to be alot better than people think come conference time. Mark it down. As long as Herron and Figueroa stay healthy

If it matters Andy Katz and Rothestein had Temple as a tournament team this year.

Sidenote : Did not know Aaron McKie was their coach.

Glad we won because even though it may not 'mean anything', think of the agida ('acidata') on the Board had our Johnnies 'lost' this scrimmage?!? Lol.
