Syracuse Basketball repeatedly violated....

B) Detect a need for Syracuse to update its drug testing and sexual abuse policies?

Wow Jimmy B needs to pay more attention it seems to what goes on off the court, or just deny deny deny....

For a guy who's obviously a terrific recruiter and astute coach, he sure is obtuse to what's going on around his program.

Be a shame to see a program that can be "the pride of the ACC" get put on the sidelines for a bit.

yeah, it's flippin ridiculous...I can MAYBE believe he possibly didn't know what was going on with Bernie (which I believe he knew about) however there is no way he didn't know that this has been going on for the last decade. I think he retires before he coaches a game in the ACC, especially with this coming out now.

If these allegations are true & I stress "if" because I do believe in innocent until proven, but if they are true, Jim Boeheim should resign on the spot. Mike Hopkins or whoever takes over can only hope that he will be the next Steve Fisher ('89 Michigan team).

So, to recapitulate, Jimmy B. and the athletic dept. had no knowledge of multiple drug violations, repeated sex assaults on boys by lovable Bernie Fine, basketball players being sexually serviced by two coaches wives, numerous cover-ups of assaults on other students and townies, sexual assaults on female students, a ringer who for years took the SAT test for cuse athletes, attempts to get high schools to alter transcripts so cuse dim-witted recruits would be eligible immediately and that the cuse routinely paid street agents to deliver NYC players. Just win, baby.

Why would they get into trouble? It's their rules they broke not ncaa rules, right? Certainly a black eye

I hope that is sarcasm...

Then they obviously know which players WERE involved.

NCAA inquiry of Syracuse underway

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University has self-reported possible violations of its internal drug policy and an NCAA inquiry is underway, according to school officials.

Kevin Quinn, senior vice president for public affairs for the university, says the inquiry does not involve any current student-athletes.

"In accordance with NCAA regulations, it is the University's practice to self-report possible violations to the NCAA. We self-reported issues with drug testing to the NCAA, and there is currently an ongoing inquiry," the school said in a statement Monday. "The inquiry does not involve any current SU student-athletes. To ensure the integrity of the ongoing process, we are unable to comment further at this time."

In a report Monday, Yahoo Sports said a three-month investigation it conducted showed that the Syracuse men's basketball program failed to adhere to its internal drug policy while playing ineligible players over the past decade.

The report, which citied anonymous sources, said at least 10 players since 2001 had tested positive for a banned recreational substance or substances. The sources said all 10 of the players were allowed to practice and play at times when they should have been suspended by the athletic department, including instances when some may not have known of their own ineligibility.

Jim Boeheim, coach of the second-ranked Orange, was not immediately available for comment.

Calls to Syracuse athletic director Daryl Gross and the NCAA were not immediately returned.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

It would be a shame if they continued as one of the better BE programs. But since they are going to the ACC, I dont care what happens to them.

“I don’t know anything about it,” Boeheim said. “I would not comment on anything like that. Good luck with your story.”

such a smug POS.....i really don't like this guy at all. guy think he is untouchable.

New York's College Team?? Interesting but when I clicked on ESPN New York there is no mention of the Syracuse investigation under the New York News section's main headlines.  You have to click on the college's link for an article. ESPN may have wanted the ACC to take Syracuse but their NYC site doesn't seem to think of them as NYC relevant. I am sure as the story grows that will change but for now maybe Daryl Gross & the SU powers need a dose of reality. Then again, maybe they are checking ESPN Canada LOL.

He's no paterno, but he's close.

What a joke.

Boeheim never knows anything, guy has lacked institutional control for the last 25 years. ESPN and most of the media protects Syracuse, but I do think the heat around Boeheim will turn up because of this. When he goes, I expect more of this to come out.
