I intend on attending the Sunday Dinner with Coach Looie. It sounds like a great event. Perhaps we can a table or two of our members. We can all meet and have a great time for a great cause for a great coach. It’s being run through the Alumni Office on a Sunday in September at Russo’s. Thanks!!!

While I am out of state and could never attend, just wanted to add that Lou C was such a huge figure growing up in the 80s out in Suffolk. In this age of NIL, I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say he was a stalwart of real college basketball as it was originally intended.

$1000 per person
It’s a Red/White Club event on Sunday 9/29. Coach Rick will also be there……introducing OUR TEAM. Yes it’s 1000, but if we can swing it, we should go. I’m not going to bring my wife because of the cost, so if others are in the same boat, we can sit together and have a great time.
I also believe that this event will take the place of the annual welcome dinner.

I.will likely go

My wife and I will be there, and yes, it's replacing the annual "Dinner With St. John's Basketball" this year in honor of Coach C's 100 birthday in January.
This occasion for me is impossible not to attend, schedule permitting. It's an event that cannot possibly live up to its billing and importance. It will be a love fest, but by where numbers be hard to attain the intimacy of just how much I've appreciated Coach C.
I last saw Coach a few weeks ago at a very small mass and gathering to honor 102 year old Dr. Andrew Bartilucci, former CPHS long standing Dean and university. executive vice president. Coach C. mostly ventures out on important occasions and this was one for him. I sat behind him at mass and received the firmest and perhaps warmest handshake at the sign of peace that a 99 year old has ever given.

I serve on an athletic department committee with Coach, and each meeting he attends is a master class in the grace, passion, intellect, enthusiasm and love Coach has for St. John's, our sports teams, and every young man or woman who ever played a sport here.

Like many of you what I feel for Coach is woven by a tapestry of events, occasions, games, and interactions since I walked onto campus nearly 50 years ago. I was a baby. For Coach it was half a lifetime ago.

I'll be there, likely with my wife because the event is THAT important.

Not there, neither was Mark Jackson. Felipe, Wennigton, Alagia, Jeff Allen, Jayson, several others, including Barry Millhaven, all there.
It was a tremendous event: also Willie Glass, Billy Singleton Brian Mahoney Ron Rutledge and others. Both the former and current players and coaches were extremely generous with their time. Coach Pitino was fantastic. Our players are true gentleman.
Quick story: I had a photo taken with Coach Pitino. The volunteer photographer was none other than RJ Luis. We are blessed and fortunate. Bless You Coach Loooie!!!!
