Last of the local teams to play for NCAA bid.

Nothing else going on for me today so will be fun to watch right now

losing 8-4 with 9 minutes left 1st half.

An offensive show that's offensive so far :)

Albany is kind of local too, could get there from Queens in just over 2 hours, Stony Brook on the LIE could take almost as long in traffic :p

You Long Island guys have a different definition of "local" than us borough guys! :)

Stony Brook was lucky to have stuck with coach Pikiell who some here even suggested as a replacement for Steve Lavin. The last four years SB has done well in the low major America East.
We at St. John's would not have been as patient after his first 6 years that read as follows:

2005   4–24
2006     9–20
2007   7–23
2008   16–14
2009   22–10
2010   15–17

took him a little while to get going but he has done a good job. I'm not in the camp that would want him here because I'd rather have a Hurley if it came to it but he has done a solid job.

I wish hofstra never left the american east or at the very least went to a different conference than the colonial

Nice to see Lavin has a much better record in his time here in a much tougher conference, shows something about stability and program building.

Hope most people on this board aren't rooting for Stony Brook and their Pukon coach. Go Great Danes!

2 hours? what by helicopter? :). My kid a soph there and I live in Queens, so I've made the trip a few times. Hooley a ballplayer. Could def play for us any day of the week. And he's from Australia, which would have made for a nice vacation-oh I'm sorry I meant recruiting-trip for Lavin.

I made it with no traffic in 2:15 when I went there, but I drive pretty fast

Albany is a great school, especially for the price. Better than most private schools, including SJU, for a lot less money.
