Paultz, that picture gave me a good chuckle.

Though that Green Monster is fool's gold for most righty-hitters. It really screws up your swing. It's all about lefties peppering that wall for singles and doubles.
 
It looks like the Yankees were the only team willing to let the no-trade clause stay and commit to almost 300 million for 10 years. I wonder how they calculate his value? 6 good years, one or two injury years, and 2 or 3 of diminished production?

The $$$$$$$$$'s are Yankees-huge, but otherwise the Yanks gave a modest package back for one of the best sluggers in MLB and one who just turned 28 last month. I like the deal because the FO left a Top 10 Farm System mostly intact and Stanton is 'probably' good for at least 6 Prime-Plus years during a time when the Yanks are not done adding to pitching this off-season and over a timeframe, where some prospects become major league-ready.
What's not to like?
 
I am actually genuinely jealous. Though I do not think it is fair that the no one has told the Mets there is no salary cap in baseball.

Not a Yankee fan but here would be my guess. Gardner has trade value and Ellsbury does not and even the Yankees have to pretend to have some kind of financial responsibility. Predict Gardner gets traded for a pitcher. These dream lineups never work out BTW. One of Stanton, Judge or Sanchez is going to get hurt.

Rumor on radio is at $150 million the Mets might not be able to make payroll.
As absurd as that sounds it has happened to them before. They had to take a huge loan from MLB that they only recently paid back.
