St. John's vs Duke FEb 3, 2018 @ MSG

St. John's Administration was trying to work something out with UCLA last year but Mullin ultimately axed it.

Was told he is not a fan of the long flight out to the west coast.
 
Renewal of the series leads me to believe there are certain Jersey kids that Duke is targeting in the next few years and they are making it more convenient for them to come take a look.

I wouldn't necessarily read that into it. Duke plays in the NYC area 2x a year without the St. John's game.

They are desperate to play at MSG any chance they can get to appease their NYC fans. Do you really think they would turn down an opportunity?

They are already playing UCONN there at the Jimmy V Classic.

Wouldn't be surprised if he could graduate over the summer, though I dont have any intel on that. He was going to be a first round pick last year, and this year would be borderline (he's been dealing with a bum ankle all year). Jefferson graduates, Kennard, Giles, Tatum all gone to the draft...just don't see him hanging around, even if he's an early second round pick.

Not in any mock draft I have seen. Couple have him going in 2nd round but saw a couple where he was not drafted at all. Maybe borderline NBA prospect as he is not a point guard and at 6-4 and not really a JJ Reddick shooter, so he he is not really an NBA 2. Throw in the fact that he is a nut case and I see him tripping Stephon Marbury in China.

Yeah but he's not in mock drafts because they assume he'll stay 4 years. NBAdraft.net for example has him nowhere in the 2017 draft but first rounder in 2018. THey are making educated guesses - not necessarily saying he wouldnt be drafted this year.

I think after the tripping incidents and the publicity he's gone. We'll see.
 
On the other Duke thread there's indications that they're playing at LB State and also againust ASU in LA next year (yippee if true by the way, though I think the ASU game was originally slated for Vegas) so I gotta wonder if that's actually the case.
 
Love it. We have a history of playing Puke tough and I relish the chance to beat them. The pressure is on them.
