St John's - Villanova

Even the announcers said it wasn't a travel. Now the officials don't allow our sub? WTF IS GOING ON?!
 
Decent matchup for us. Considering we rebound like the CYO teams that play at halftime at CA, their bigs are not too much for us to handle. Mouph is extremely soft and Sutton is not a BE player to begin with but does play hard. Even though they can hit 3's, they struggle off the dribble. Considering all of the hype surrounding Branch's defense, it will be embarrassing if he is not able to shut down Arch tonight who is considerably slower and a marginal BE pg, IMO. A very winnable game, but our performance this year has been so disheartening, who knows

Arcidiacono is more than marginal. If they didn't learn anything from the USF game, Arci will have a career assist night.

This marginal PG would have been a 4 year starter for us.
 
First 5 min of the 2nd half will be critical. Feed Harrison the ball.

Also, coach needs to have Obekpa in there, too much penetration at the end of that half.
 
If we can learn how to defend a on the ball screen we might be able to keep it close. Ryan A is getting a screen and letting it go.

A foul fest like this though typically favors the home team.

Branch is the best PG we have...tech foul was stupid...but the drive to the hoop should have been good...at least he can get to the hoop
 
To be down by 3 facing both the refs and Villanova, I'll take it. One thing is for sure: Harrison has been unleashed. He is great at that dribble-stop floater from 6 feet out. When he isn't doing that, he's nailing 3's. Our rebounding has been HORRENDOUS...not just bad. The refs really helped curb our momentum exactly like with Murray State and it's like a haunting from the past. We need to win this game. We can easily lose to Cincy and G'town...I don't want to start off 0-3.

Harrison already has 21. I agree feed Harrison make them prove they can stop him. But don't forget about Jakkar he has no points yet because of foul trouble

Lol I seriously forgot he was in foul trouble. We faired well without him but he will need some touches in that 2nd half.
 
We need Jakarr as our #2 punch when D'Lo is in trouble or going cold. This game has absolutely zero flow though due to nit picking refs and that goes both ways. The home cooking needs to stop and we need to start rebounding. By the way is it just me, or is ESPNU being extremely biased pro Nova? All they show before commercials are Nova dunks and 3's...we are down by 3 points lol. Maybe it's because they are home, but just kind of noticed it. I am so sick of the weaving offense...I'm sorry but that's not a play. Like the announcers said, weaving is just banking on the defense making 1 mistake and throwing it over to that area. I saw one real play it was a backdoor pass from Obekpa but he missed it to Felix.
